My Five Favourite TikTok Accounts for Food Inspiration

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Exeter chapter.

Being creative with food can be such a great distraction from deadlines and stress, but with busy schedules it can be difficult to find inspiration. Trying to make mealtimes exciting and varied can be a demanding task, and as a student, it’s so easy to resort to ready meals or beans on toast, especially if you don’t have a lot of time to cook.

The days of flicking through a recipe book with no pictures is over. Cooking is a lot more accessible today, and seems a lot less daunting with access to social media. I have compiled my five favourite TikTok accounts for food inspiration, including breakfast, dinner, and sweet treats, from affordable to indulgent, finding recipes that are easy and won’t break the bank can be as easy as scrolling through social media during a study break.

Dishes By Daisy

This is my favourite account for easy and delicious dinner recipes. She has ready-made playlists for student meals and vegan options so there’s something for everyone here. She regularly updates her recent series of broke student meals and £1 dinners which are perfect for budget-conscious students and are great for meal prep. Her ‘what I eat in a day’ videos are always so comforting to watch, with a focus on nourishing your body and its hunger cues with no mention of calories. She also has the best baking recipes; her cookies are a must-try and a guaranteed hit with your flatmates!

Hari Beavis

Like daisy, her recipes are a mixture of sweet treats and savoury dishes. What’s great about Hari’s Account is the variety, weather you’re cooking up a storm for a summer barbeque, hosting friends, or craving a comfort meal, there’s a recipe for every occasion on her account. Her foods tend to be less budget focussed, but they can mostly be made quickly and easily. Recently she’s been releasing really easy no-bake sweet treats, which are perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth!

Grace Booth

I’ve followed Grace for a while now and cannot recommend her account enough, she is definitely my comfort creator. You’ll find mixture of calming baking videos, treats from bakeries and café’s, afternoon tea platters and a side of wholesome content. But be warned, you will want to head down to a bakery to satisfy your sweet tooth after watching her videos.

Feedmi

For all your pasta, rice, and noodle meals, this is the account for you! She makes cooking from scratch seem so simple; you’ll never want to cook from a jar again. There are such a variety of dishes to choose from, and so much flavour, you’ll never run out of meal choices. If you’re stuck for inspiration and looking to mix things up, this is the account for you.

Ashleys Bowl

This one is a bit different; it’s not focussed on savoury meals but sweet breakfasts. Ashley has the most amazing breakfasts and puts the average morning oats to shame. Weather its baked, overnight, or hot oatmeal, every breakfast looks like an art piece. Recently she’s been delving into savoury dishes too which all look delicious. Her account is so colourful and uplifting, you’re bound to find some inspiration there!
