Warm-up Races: 5pm – 6pm
Racing Commences: 6pm – 8pm
With the end of exams in sight and the weather turning warmer there is one event that should be at the top of your calendar: The 2013 Rowing Varsity. It is the perfect excuse to enjoy the sun with a few drinks while you witness some true athletic prowess.
Exeter University Boat Club has gone from strength to strength in the past year, from the opening of a new boathouse in October, to their recent success at BUC’s Regatta. Not only did they place fourth in the BUC’s league they also amassed a record breaking number of points. The recent AU Awards Dinner cemented their reputation as an exceptional sporting society when Jess Collins won Treasurer of the Year, and David Rogal won the award for outstanding contribution to sport.
The event is guaranteed to be an exciting afternoon of tight 400m sprint races between Exeter University and Exeter City Rowing Club. All of this is sponsored by The Waterfront, who will provide an outside bar with pitchers and a Pimm’s tent. The raffle prizes include two Timepiece Gold cards, a bottle of champagne and wine from Timepiece, cocktails and a shaker from ‘tails’ and £10-20 gift cards for The Waterfront.
If all of this isn’t enough to tempt you, there is a very special auction taking place where you have the chance to bid on four boat club buffs. Look out for their exclusive interviews on Her Campus over the next few days.
