Molly Georgia Minter ’19

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at F and M chapter.

HC: Intended major?

MGM: Probably Theater.

HC: Hometown?

MGM: Pelham, NY… but really I belong in the city!

HC: What are you most passionate about?

MGM: I am passionate about the arts and how creativity can inspire people. I think that field is sometimes overlooked, but everyone can connect to their favorite song or movie. Creativity can have an extreme power over people.

HC: What are you involved in at F&M?

MGM: A wonderful A Cappella group called the Poor Richards, TDF (Theatre, Dance & Film) – I was in Hair, and am currently playing Dolly in the upcoming production of One Man, Two Guvnors. ***Which runs Feb 11-14!***

HC: Celebrity crush?

MGM: Eddie Redmayne

HC: What is your guilty pleasure?

MGM: Although I wouldn’t say I’m necessarily guilty for it, I have been annoyingly in love with One Direction since 9th grade. As silly as their songs may be and as annoying as their fans can be, I think this is a love that will never fade.

HC: Dream Role?

MGM: The Baker’s Wife in the Broadway rendition of Sondheim’s “Into the Woods”

HC: Since you are so passionate about the arts, could you possibly have time for anything else in your crazy hectic life?

MGM: Other than just hanging out with friends, and having a good time, a really big priority in my life is traveling. I feel immensely lucky to have been all around the world at my age, and I hope to continue to travel to new places and discover new cultures.

HC: Wow, you’re so lucky to have had that opportunity! With all those cultures you must be a food snob. I know D-hall must not succeed your worldly standards – what are some of your favorite spots off campus?

AP: I love Sukhothai, Rachel’s Creperie is a must, and I love heading out to Central Market for a grocery run or nice bite to eat. The bagels here can’t compete with that of New York, but if you are craving bagels, College Corner Café is a good choice.

HC: Who inspires you?

MGM: My sister, Tess. She is my best friend in the world, and a few years ago without any hesitation, she picked up and moved across the country into a job field that is very risky. She not only made it through that, but she is thriving and loving every minute of it. I think that she is immensely brave and I strive to have her work ethic, and passion for life, always.

HC: Describe yourself in three words?

MGM:

1. Effervescent

2. Dramatic

3. Determined

HC: What’s your Spirit Animal

MGM: Snow Leopard

HC: Any lasting advice for a first year?

MGM: It doesn’t matter if you’re extremely outgoing or very quiet – if you have a passion, when you come to campus, no one can jumpstart something for you. You create your own college experience and you have to go out there and get something for yourself. So, if it means auditioning for that play, trying out for that sport, or rushing that sorority, there is no more hand holding. It’s time for you to have your shining moment, and make this what is known as the best 4 years of your life.
