21 Lessons We Learned from the Kardashians

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

Over the years we have all experienced the reign of the Kardashian Empire. Their reality television show, numerous modeling campaigns, fabulous style choices and uses of social media have taught us various life lessons that should exist in our thought processes on a daily basis.

Carefree is the way to be: People will always have something to say, but the best way to move forward is to not to even acknowledge it.

Haters gonna hate: Don’t let anyone or their mother get you down.

Change will happen in due time: There are always opportunities to better your life and current situation, just give it time.

Style is everything: Go big or go home. Enough said. Always make sure you are at least somewhat put together and looking as fabulous as you possibly can.

You can’t help someone who doesn’t want it: Just like Khloe couldn’t force Lamar to seek help on his drug addiction, you can’t force others to make changes in their lives that they don’t want for themselves.

You must always confront your issues head on: The best way to squash some drama is to just come right out and say it.

If you’ve got it, flaunt it: No shame. And yes they flaunt it, pretty often actually.

Even your worst decisions in life can have positive outcomes: Just look at Kim’s claim to fame.

You have to give a little to get a little: Don’t just expect everyone to love and respect you. You must give respect to get it in return.

Having a close family is a key source of happiness… and craziness too: Whether they are constantly bothering you, or constantly helping you, there’s nothing like a close, large, crazy family.

Your sisters can and should be your best friends: There is such a realistic and strong bond between Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, Kendall and Kylie.

It’s okay to step out of your family’s shadow: Just look at Kendall taking on her own, individual, modeling campaign without attaching her family’s successful name to it.

Social media is the best way to market yourself: Just watch the girls tweet and Instagram to their millions of followers on a daily basis. What better way to share information?

Having a momager is the coolest thing… ever: She could make you dinner, and make you millions of dollars in contracts. What’s better than that?

Nothing comes without hard work and determination: Even the Kardashians know that some things in life are not just handed to you.

The more shoes/sunglasses/handbags, the merrier: As told by our faces when we see the most incredible shoes to ever be worn, or most stylish handbags to ever be carried.

Nobody likes a fake person: Seriously, this is just a given.

There is always more success beyond what you currently have: Never be content, or just settle for what you currently have. Keep striving.

Love yourself, or nobody else will: This one’s a given too.

Money can’t buy happiness: And this. Just because you have all the money in the world doesn’t mean you have a great family, great health, or a great support system.

Your family will always be there for you. Always: Even when the rest of the world turns on you, your family will always be there to keep your spirits high.
