Who hasn’t heard about the spectacular that is The Greatest Showman? For those who do not know, it follows P.T. Barnum, the man who created the circus, played by Hugh Jackman. This movie is not a documentary style film. Instead, it is a musical with elaborate numbers and costumes. Here are three reasons why The Greatest Showman is just ~so great~.
1. The All Star Cast
Hugh Jackman is the lead of this musical. While he is well known for his portrayal of the Wolverine, this is not his first time singing on the big screen – he played the lead of Jean Valjean in Les Miserables. Troy Bolton has come back to sing his way into our hearts again, too. That’s right, we finally get to hear more of Zac Efron’s singing! Also, his chemistry with Zendaya was so ~swoon~ worthy.
2. The Soundtrack
After seeing the movie, it is only natural to listen to the soundtrack on repeat. We probably can sing the songs word for word if we are going to be honest. The songs are beautifully written and composed. A definite favorite would have to be “Million Dreams.”
3. The Costumes
Since the movie is a musical that revolves around a circus and the man who started it, it is no surprise that the costumes were fun and extravagant. Members of the circus wear bright colored pieces of clothing, typically the ones that they wore in their acts. Who could forget Zendaya’s purple costume as a trapeze artist?
If you haven’t seen The Greatest Showman yet, collegiettes, then you definitely should make it a priority. See you at the movies!
