Life is hard for college students. We are constantly juggling homework, time with friends, job searches, and more.
Here at 5 reminders that college students need to hear.
1. It is okay that you don’t have it all figured out.
In college, you are still young. You probably do not know what you want to do for the rest of your life – in fact, nobody really does.
Also, your major really does not matter as much as you think.
According to Forbes, “While your job will most likely require a Bachelor’s degree, it probably won’t matter what field it is in. According to recent research, 62% of recent college graduates are working in jobs that require a degree, yet only 27% of college graduates are working in a job that even relates to their major.” Chances are you will explore many fields. Your first job or internship is only a stepping-stone.
2. One bad grade will not ruin everything.
Instead, take it as a point to work harder and study more efficiently for the next exam or paper. Don’t be afraid to confront your professors either. If you are struggling in a class, reach out and attend their office hours to see how you can do better. He or she will notice that you care about your academics and you will probably score some brownie points with them too.
3. Take care of yourself.
Sure, pizza again for dinner does sound delicious but you will look good and feel good if you drink lots of water, eat well and attend the gym regularly.
4. Call your parents.
They definitely want to hear from you.
5. Stay single until someone actually benefits your life in a way that makes it worth it.
Do not settle, ladies. You deserve the best and only the best!
