Midterms were stressful enough, but we all know that just because midterms are over doesn’t mean that the work stops. With finals approaching before we know it and the projects and papers beginning to pick up, we definitely need to find ways to de-stress. Here are some tips to help you successfully make it through this busy time.
1.Sign up for classes at the Rec Plex.
With the brand new Rec Plex on campus, what better way to release some stress and than to take a free class as a study break. It will help clear your head, and leave you feeling refreshed for your next exam. Also, try a new class if you are already a Rec Plex class regular.
2.Take a trip to Las Vetas, or another off-campus coffee shop.
Changing scenery is a good way to refocus, and while you’re there you can enjoy one of their specialty coffees and treats.
3.Bake a study snack.
Making brownies or cookies in your dorm lounge or kitchen with friends will take your mind off exams. A little sugar rush can help you get the energy to put your focus back on your work.
4.Visit the beach.
We are lucky enough to be so close to a beach, a luxury many college students don’t have. What better study break than to take advantage of the beach and go for a walk in the sand.
5.Watch an episode of your favorite show.
During this stressful period, it’s important to still enjoy some “me” time. Watching an episode of your favorite series will put you in a good mood to continue on with your studies. Just make sure not to get caught up and start binge watching!
6.Create a schedule and build in times to take breaks.
With all the ideas above, it’s key to design a schedule for all you have to get done, with built in study breaks. This will help you stay focused and motivated!
