As of April 2nd, love is dead again for another Hollywood power couple. Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan announced they have officially split. They claim the split to be amicable and have said that they will work together to be the best parents possible for their four-year old daughter, Everly. However, we are devastated by the breakup and you should be too. Here’s why:
-
They met on the set of the original Step Up Movie

They met in 2006 – twelve years ago – in the original Step Up movie. Watching them young and in love just might be too much to take.
2. They were married for 9 years
The couple did not officially tie the knot until 2009, making their marriage nine years old –  which was just long enough for us to hope that they would be together forever.
3. They have an adorable little daughter
Their four-year old daughter Everly is adorable and looking at pictures of their little family breaks our hearts now.
4. No more pictures of them together rocking the red carpet
One of the best looking and best dressed couples in Hollywood is no more. The red carpet will suffer from this tragedy.
5. No more cute pictures and videos
No longer will we get any ragingly-cute selfies and posts about how much they appreciate their significant other. It’s true what they say: you don’t know what you got until it’s gone.
6. You can’t watch their lip sync battle without a bit of your soul breaking off
Arguably one of the best lip sync battles of all time is now ruined. Now, watching Channing and Jenna root for each other while they’re both killing it will just hurt too much.

7. This is just one of the many couples that have split up this year, proving love is dead
Jenna and Channing aren’t the only long-term couple that have split up over the past year. We’ve also lost Fergie and Josh Duhamel, Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux, and Anna Faris and Chris Pratt. RIP to all our sunken ships.
Jenna and Channing have broken hearts across the globe, but there are some great couples that still give us hope. Chrissy and John we’re looking at you, don’t let us down.
