Blake Lively is just one of the stars who is raising awareness of the double standards women face in society. If you have been keeping up with the A Simple Favor press tour, you know that Lively has been wearing a variety of suits while promoting the movie. A blogger recently wrote about the actress’ choice in clothing on social media.
“It’s suit number 1,356 for Blake Lively’s promotion of ‘A Simple Favor,'” the writer wrote. “This time custom pink Ralph Lauren Collection.”
To say the least, Lively was not happy about the comment. She came back at the blogger saying, “Would you note a man wearing lots of suits during a promo tour? So why can’t a woman? Just sayinnnn. No double standards ladies.”
The fashion blogger responded to Lively with, “You know I love you, and I personally have really enjoyed this tour. If you look at my website, I have said that I have admired your total commitment to rocking suits during this promo tour. That number was just an attempt at humor. I’m sorry it didn’t translate. Looking forward to the Paris premiere.”

Once again, Lively replied to the fashion blogger’s comment by stating that she understands not everyone will like her choice in style and that there was some miscommunication concerning the humor. Blake also pointed out that she hopes women will not get teased for making the same decisions as men do. Every voice matters and every statement can make change.
Finally, the blogger made one last comment. “The queen has spoken,” she mentioned on her account. “#NoDoubleStandards #WomenInSuits #WhenYourJokeDoesntBang.”
From the fashion world to everyday life, Blake Lively is making sure people are more conscious of what comments they are putting out into the world.
