Moms: can’t live with them, certainly can’t live without them. As a girl enters college, her relationship with her mom becomes a friendship. My mom is my best friend. She’s the first person I call when I want to cry or when I want to laugh. Even though my mom is one of the girls, she can still (on occasion) be a stereotypical, mortifying parent at times. Even with the right intentions, moms can still continue to embarrass you even from one hundred miles away, which is one of the many reasons we unconditionally love them. Here are just some of those embarrassing texts you’ve received from your mom while at school:
“Have you been to the gym lately???”
Do you count walking to class? I swear it’s uphill both ways.
When she calls you any kind of pet name.
How are you Sweet Angel? What’s up Lovebug?? EW. STOP.
When she’s brutally honest.
Nice recovery there, Ma.
“Did you go to a party last night???”
Followed by, “I saw pics on Instagram. Where are the rest of your clothes?”
Let a girl live!!
The overuse of emojis.
“Have a great day!!!!! *followed by several lines of multicolored hearts*
“Do you have a boyfriend…?”
Oh great, this again.
“When will you have a boyfriend…?”
“…Because I gave your number to a boy in Starbucks today.”
Trying to understand any terms from Urban Dictionary.
And then the conversation turns into tips about Instagram because she’s ~hip & cool~ now.
