Stella McCartney has just unveiled a new line of lingerie designed specifically for post-mastectomy patients, just in time for National Breast Cancer Awareness month! The cause hits close to home for McCartney, who’s mother passed away from the disease in 1998,  sparking the designers passionate efforts to support raising awareness. The designer has her own London-based fund for Breast Cancer Research in her mother’s name, and last year she had model Kate Moss showcase a line of lingerie to raise money for further research.
Now, McCartney has the famous, model / instagram celebrity / actress, Cara Delevingne as the poster girl for the bras. Â
Not only do these bras support the cause, but actually provide post-mastectomy patients with a lacy, sexy bra that, aside from aesthetics, is also incredibly supportive and comfortable. McCartney wants women who have undergone this emotionally and physically distressing surgery to still feel sexy and beautiful.
Her reasoning for having Ms. Delevingne as the face of the campaign is to reach a younger generation of girls and hopefully remind them how important it is to stay aware of their health and visit their doctor regularly for checkups. We couldn’t be more inspired by Stella McCartney and Cara Delevigne! #GIRLPOWER
