Everyone knows there has been quite a bit of controversy regarding the baggy jean look. Some people love it and others are not a fan. I’m here to tell those of you who aren’t a lover of the look that skinny jeans are making an elevated comeback!
I remember for years I only wore skinny jeans until flare, baggy, low-rise, and mom jeans came into style. I may not have paired it great with a plain long-sleeve shirt and a multi-colored infinity scarf, given this was about 7 years ago. Now I’m ready to redeem myself.
While skinny jeans never went completely out of style, they definitely had their back-of-the-closet moments. This comeback is going to be a different style of skinny jeans. Instead of paired with a heel and blazer, knee boots and a white button down will do.
How to style them:
The key to styling a skinny jean look is a balance in clothing pieces. You want to pair these jeans with a boot that cuts at your calf or any below-the-knee boot. These can be heels or flats but I would recommend a bit of a heel. In order to create some balance, you’re going to want a looser fitting top or jacket rather than something form-fitting.
One skinny jean look I absolutely loved that I saw on TikTok was Brigette’s, A.K.A @acquired.style. She chose a pair of black low-rise skinny jeans, paired with calf-cut cowboy boots, a gray turtle-neck cropped sweater, and a leather jacket. I will 100% be trying out this look as I’m still an avid lover of trying new style trends.
Another way we’re going to see skinny jeans styled is the white t-shirt and leather boot look. Find an oversized white t-shirt and below-the-knee leather boots and you have yourself a look. This is easy to work with especially if you already have staple pieces in your closet. If you’re not interested in trying the new elevated skinny jean look, opt for a straight leg ankle jean.
What do you guys think – will skinny jeans have a big return in 2023?
