Spice Girls Reunite for the First Time in Years

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

Spice Girls fans, it’s time to rejoice! The ladies were recently seen in London together with all smiles – leaving fans wondering if there is a chance the ladies could be planning something big (my inner 90’s girl could only hope so).

All five girls met up this past week for the first time in ~six~ years after their split in 2000. They were last seen together as a group at the 2012 Olympic closing ceremony. Emma Bunton, Melanie C, Mel B, Geri Halliwell, and Victoria Beckham spent the day with their manager and graced the public with this cute picture posted to Instagram.

Excuse me while I go cue up my Spice Girls playlist because Baby Spice confessed there was a need for “a bit of girl power in the world.” The OG feminist squad getting back together is a HUGE moment, as the Spice Girls taught us the importance of sisterhood and building each other up as women. The Sun, a British newspaper, reported the girl group is considering “TV projects in China, a new telly talent show, endorsement deals and a compilation album celebrating their greatest hits.”

This is only the beginning for the Spice Girls, but now we can only hope the Jonas Brothers will take note and get back together too because I need another Camp Rock movie ASAP.
