Halloween is officially over. It’s time for the dead to go back where they came from, and holiday cheer to be spread amongst all. The best way to kick off the holiday season is with the return of holiday drinks at Starbucks served in the red holiday cups we love.
Today, the holiday drink flavors like Gingerbread, Caramel Brulée latte, Eggnog and Peppermint Mocha are back but our red holiday cup is nowhere in sight. And the world is not happy about that. Instead, drinks at Starbucks today were served in a green cup designed with a drawing by Shogo Ota. The design on the cup is for this holiday season is many different people that were are strung together with one stroke.
Starbucks’ chairman and CEO, Howard Schultz, stated: “The green cup and the design represent the connections Starbucks has as a community with its partners (employees) and customers.”
“During a divisive time in our country, Starbucks wanted to create a symbol of unity as a reminder of our shared values, and the need to be good to each other,” Schultz said.
So there you have it, holiday cups are out and unity is in. We should take this twist as a time to be kinder to each other, especially during the holiday season. Plus, the red cup holiday Instagrams were getting old anyway!
