The holiday shopping season is here and now more than ever it is so important to support our small businesses! Influencer, blogger, author, designer, and the founder of brand WeWoreWhat, Danielle Bernstein used her @WeWoreWhat Instagram account with a large following and reach to spread awareness of amazing small businesses who needed help during the coronavirus pandemic.
“She called on her more than 2.5 million followers and the response was powerful. In the first months of the pandemic, Danielle and the WeWoreWhat community helped keep dozens of small businesses afloat and donated tens of thousands of dollars to organizations that needed it most. She knew she wanted to create a charitable arm of her business, as a way to continue these giveback initiatives past the pandemic.” Inspired by how Danielle was levitating WeWoreWhat, long-time follower Alex Bushman reached out for help and to help. Danielle and Alex founded WeGaveWhat to amplify the power of social media as a tool to raise awareness of amazing, diverse small businesses and organizations and to inspire collective action. “Our goal is to give anyone and every one an outlet to create change and support issues bigger than ourselves. Whether it’s our time, our voice, our support, our compassion — we all have something to give.”
To help small businesses especially during this holiday season Bernstein and WeGaveWhat partnered with the retail store space, Showfields, in New York City located at 11 Bond Street to host a pop-up space for several small businesses that Bernstein and WeGaveWhat communicated with and handpicked to create the ultimate shopping experience. It can also be shopped online at: https://showfields.com/pages/wgw
These small businesses all offer incredible products but all have even more admirable touching stories. A sneak peek at some of the small businesses featured:
Billie Simone Jewelry – the perfect gold jewelry staples
Designed by Chelsea Moser, a 100% self-funded fine and semi-fine jewelry line. Chelsea’s journey started by just designing pieces specially for herself as she had almost a decade of experience within the jewelry industry. But her creating jewelry for just herself quickly turned into much more. Chelsea worked hard with her team to provide and prioritize her pieces to be a high-end capsule of pieces in terms of quality materials. Where price points are attainable but the quality of the jewelry wasn’t ever questionable. Billie Simon Jewelry provides high-end quality pieces at enticing price points, allowing everyone to be able to afford pieces of everyday luxury.
Chimmi – Trendy, cute, and immigrant woman empowering hair accessories
Chimmi is short for “children of immigrants,” founded by two women who believe in the hustle to succeed, especially women immigrants. Beginning in 2019 to build a community platform for emerging immigrant creators. With their mission being “to support that hustle through inspirational storytelling, our own brand, and other independent businesses. We foster meaningful partnerships to grow together as a community and to pave the way for generations to come. 10% of profits are donated to organizations supporting immigrants and marginalized communities.”

Cibelle – awesome eyewear and eyewear accessories to add to any outfit
Cibelle was founded on a mission to fiercely inspire women to celebrate their differences and support a movement of empowerment through eyewear and accessories. Before Cibelle, there was a void in the market for high-quality frames that made individuals feel confident and beautiful. Along the way of building Cibelle, it was also found that fast fashion eyewear came at the expense of someone in the supply chain, people, and the planet. At that point, Cibelle creators knew that they had to not only make the finest eyewear possible. But, they also had to instill a new way of doing business in the fashion eyewear market. Doing just that, Cibelle decided to work with a family-owned factory in Italy. This family-owned factory maintains fair labor standards protecting the people.
Club Casual – your go-to loungewear brand where comfort meets chic
The brand was created during the stay-at-home orders by two sisters who were inspired by embracing the current lifestyle and the emerging need for well-designed loungewear. The founders wanted to elevate your everyday outfits and make you feel your best–even at home. Club casual has a made-to-order business model and the loungewear is produced based on demand in limited styles and quantities–creating less waste and more guilt-free shopping! With minimalist and chic designs, each piece is made for staying in and stepping out.
