Singer and songwriter, Randy Cortez always knew that 2021 would be a big year for him. Having an extensive career that started in the early 2000’s with his duo partner Jowell, he sure knows that success does not come easy and with his new solo album coming “Romances De Una Nota 2021, Vol 2” he will demonstrate that to the fans.
Randy started calling out his success in 2021 way back, like in the songs of his collaboration with Cultura Profetica in 2011. According to a recent interview done by Rolling Stone, he had a feeling but didn’t know why but he would always go ‘Randy, 20201!’ in his music.
He was right, this year ended up being full of success for him and even life changing. With this new album he want to explore his vocal talent and lean towards R&B, funk, and soul. He is prepared to own his career and make out of his music what he wants and what he thinks the public will be very intrigued by.
“This is something magical now. And I’ve had the vision for this for years. I’ve been preparing for this”.
It is not the first time that Randy explores the Spanish R&B, he has been ahead of the game for years but streaming services were not like they are now. Back then, as he mentions in the interview radio stations would get bored, and they’d go saying “That’s not going to hit.” Randy has analyzed how artists like Dalex have ventured into the R&B genre and he has had the vision for years, to now execute it. He does not feel intimidated by new generations, he has seen artists like Rauw, Justin Quiles, Dalex, and Jhay Wheeler way before they were signed to their labels.
This album is worth hearing and sharing, it brings you to the root of what reggaeton started as and the inspiration many of the new artists have to grow in the industry.
