This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FIU chapter.

Get ready, Pogues!

In December 2021, Netflix announced that its popular series Outer Banks was getting a third season after the huge successes of the previous two seasons. Season 1 was released in 2020 while season 2 was released in 2021.

On February 28, 2022, it was reported that production on season 3 of the hit show was underway. The main cast, which includes Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Rudy Pankow, Madison Bailey, and Jonathan Daviss, are all set to return for the third season. Although there is no definite release date for season 3 yet, OBX fans are excited to see what comes next for the Pogues.

According to Netflix, the synopsis for Outer Banks‘ first season is, “On an island of haves and have-nots, teen John B enlists his three best friends to hunt for a legendary treasure linked to his father’s disappearance.” Season 2’s synopsis is, “With a fortune in gold at stake and their futures on the line, the Pogues rush headlong into danger and a fresh mystery as they face foes old and new.” Both seasons consist of 10 episodes, with each episode being about an hour long. There is no information on what exactly season 3 will be about but fans have started coming up with theories about the possible storylines for the new season.

If you want to watch the trailer from season 2 to get a recap before season 3 arrives, you can do so here. Also, if you want to binge watch the first two seasons before season 3 gets released, you can watch them on Netflix here.

Hopefully it won’t be long until a release date and trailer for season 3 of Outer Banks are announced, and we’re back on island time with the Pogues!
