As of February 23rd, Glossier products are now available to shop at Sephora in-store and online. Glossier is known for advocating skin first, and makeup second, by creating a line of products that naturally enhance the face. As a fan of Glossier products, I’ll be sharing my personal opinion on Glossier products I have tried by listing what’s worth the purchase, and what isn’t.
- Futuredew SERUM
-
This serum is an oil-serum hybrid meant to be applied at the end of your skincare routine or on its own as your shortcut to looking as fresh-faced as you are when you finish your skincare routine. I prefer doing just that, on its own if I want a bit of a natural glow on no-makeup days or underneath my makeup. It may not be best for oily skin, but it works well on my normal/combination skin.
- Stretch concealer
-
I love this concealer for no-makeup makeup days. It’s light, doesn’t crease, and melts right into your skin. It applies for decent coverage and is buildable, but don’t expect to build to full coverage either.Â
- CLOUD PAINT
-
As a fan of cream or liquid blushes, I’d say that trying Glossier’s cloud paint was what started my love for them. It leaves a soft, blurred look on your cheeks. Similarly to the stretch concealer, it melts right into your skin and is buildable, although be warned that a little goes a very long way.
- SOLAR PAINT
-
I was hesitant to try their solar paint bronzer as I had never tried a cream bronzer before, but I was impressed. It has a lightweight, whipped consistency, and is best applied with a beauty sponge. I wouldn’t call it my favorite, but it looks very natural on your skin and does the job of adding warmth to the face.Â
- lip gloss
-
As a fan of very thin and smooth lipgloss, Glossier’s lipgloss is the only gloss with a thicker consistency that I’ll accept wearing. It’s not too thick, but the pigment and shine from their glosses are great. I own both the red and holographic shades, which both work well as a lip topper or on their own.
There are plenty of other “holy grail” products such as their Boy Brow, Lash Slick, Generation G lipsticks, Ultralips, and Glossier You perfume. I have yet to try these, but I’m sure they may be worth a try. Now moving on to a product I have tried but do not recommend, which is the Perfecting Skin Tint.
This skin tint is a watery formula, which is not a bad thing, but it provides little to no coverage. While aware that is the purpose of the product, I don’t find it worth the money, as it’s set to the price of $26. There are other similar products to this that are worth the price and use, and achieve the same effect and more. If I’m looking for a low coverage base, I prefer using the Morphe Hint Hint Skin Tint. This skin tint has the ability to achieve a barely there look by simply evening skin tone, but can also be built to a medium coverage.
Hopefully this helps make your decision on what products you should turn to as a first time buyer. Enjoy your shopping!
