As the season of love quickly approaches, some people are most likely thinking about which restaurant they’ll be taking their partner to or what the perfect gift is. But for those who are single during this Valentine’s season, planning a surprise for a significant other is the least of their worries. Although, it would be fun to at least have some plans. Whether you’re single or simply don’t have anything planned, here are a few Valentine’s Day ideas for singles!

Binge-watch a new show

If staying in sounds like an ideal plan for Valentine’s Day, then getting started on a new tv show or movie series is perfect for you. On the other hand, catching up on that show you started once but might’ve forgotten about also sounds like a great idea. Just pop some popcorn in the microwave and you’re all set.

glam up for a diy photoshoot

Regardless if you choose to stay in or go out on Valentine’s Day, I think we can all agree that glamming up while listening to our favorite podcast or music playlist is truly an adored pastime — and so are selfies!

You don’t need an expensive ring light to capture some great photos. Throw on a stylish outfit, model for the camera, and click post on Instagram!

go thrifting with a friend

Time well spent does not mean tons of money has to be spent! With thrifting being one of the latest trends, it makes a great Valentine’s Day alternative. Bring a friend to tag along with and show each other your thrift finds.

On top of thrifting being an entertaining and inexpensive experience, it also contributes to reducing energy waste in our environment.

Host a galentine’s (girls night)

All single-ladies gather around! Hosting a get-together for all your gals is a perfect way to spend Valentine’s Day if you’re single. Start the music while you and your friends put together a brunch meal or dinner special. You can even prepare some homemade pizza or bake sweets together! End the night with a worthy Rom-Com, board game, or some karaoke.

self care day

Instead of categorizing Valentine’s Day as a holiday for couples only, enjoy this day by showing yourself a little love too! A self care day is the perfect way to reward your hard work and finally find some me-time to relax. One can dedicate this day to prioritizing their health, perfecting one’s skin care routine, or even reading by the beach while getting that sun-kissed tan.

Don’t worry if you slept in a little later than usual or decided to spend some alone time with yourself… you deserve it!

spend quality time with Loved ones

Whether it be your young sibling(s), mom, dad, or one of your grandparents and best friends … let them know how much you love and appreciate them. Offer cooking dinner for your loved one or receive them with a sentimental gift such as a card or flowers. It’s the little things that can make someone’s day.

treat yourself

Lastly, take advantage of this day filled of love to spoil yourself! Find time to go shopping or eat the food you’ve been wanting to eat. Maybe stop by the hair salon for a new haircut or hairstyle. Get the nail set you’ve been wanting for so long. End the day off with your favorite box of chocolates!
