Tired from the crazy year? Relax during Spring Break by doing these fun things!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FIU chapter.

Most of us can say that 2024 has been a crazy year. For me, I have had the most coursework in all of college, joined a sorority, and am involved in two major clubs that involve a lot of planning on my part. The good thing about the midterm season is that spring break is fast approaching, and while my break is almost done, here are some fun but relaxing things to do during your break that not only benefit you now but will help you in the future!

Be a couch potato and binge-watch everything.

Look, this is the one time in the semester where you can truly do whatever you want and if you want to catch up on all the shows you have missed, this is your chance. Personally, this semester has been one of the most tiring and this spring break, I just relaxed in bed, playing video games and watching all the shows my sorority sisters have been recommending me. Get some of your favorite snacks and enjoy watching!

Spring Cleaning!

I am a commuter student who spends a lot of time at school, which means one thing: keeping up with my room is hard. If you are going home for spring break, use the time to not only relax but you can get rid of some old clothes or items that you don’t like anymore. And the best thing is that you can do it while catching up on the shows you haven’t seen! The last time I decluttered my room, I came out with 4 garbage bags worth! Don’t worry, a lot of it went back to my home country or was donated if it was in good condition!

Start a new hobby!

As an arts and crafts connoisseur, I start a new hobby probably every other month, which is good for my little creative brain but not so good for my wallet! Lately, I have been working on cross-stitching, which is a very time-consuming hobby, especially if you are like me and you started a big project, with no experience in cross-stitching. You could start knitting, painting, or skateboarding with all the free time you will have on spring break!
