In Florida, the fall season is something not commonly experienced. Seeing the colorful foliage on Instagram posts from out of state is something that induces major FOMO. The most exciting thing about fall in Florida is the occasional cold front that makes temperatures fall below 70 degrees, as well as the cozy rainy mornings we get every now and then. But when it comes to seeing the orange and maroon tones of fall, Floridians, unfortunately, miss out every year. So, if you are someone who wants to experience the beauty of a typical Hallmark movie type of Fall, here are five travel destinations.
Coming in at number one, there is New York City. In New York City, you can experience fall while simultaneously being in a city with many attractions and tourist activities. You can walk around Central Park and watch the foliage fall, or entertain yourself by shopping and walking around museums. You can essentially pretend you’re in the movie “Good Will Hunting”.
In second place is Burlington, Vermont. If a big city is too crowded for you, Burlington might be more your thing. It is a smaller city with quaint buildings and a historical aesthetic. You can enjoy more fall-typical things such as apple picking, going to a pumpkin patch, and seeing the foliage all around with its abundant vegetation.
Lastly, third place goes to Asheville, North Carolina. This hipster location is for those who want to visit boutiques, craftsman, and artisan shops, and like to check out a variety of breweries. The foliage in Asheville is just as abundant as that of Burlington, but this is accompanied by the view of The Smokey Mountains. If Burlington and New York are too urban for your taste, Asheville might be the place for you, with picturesque sceneries and activities that will make you feel like a local.
