Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be romantic. Here are a few ideas for your next Galentine’s Day party with your besties!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FIU chapter.

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, stores are decked out with their newest V-Day goodies, and as someone who has never been in a romantic relationship, I treasure and loathe this day. However, with friends, this loving and romantic day can turn into a day of fun and long-lasting memories. Here are a few ideas to do with your besties to commemorate such a holiday!

Pottery Making:

If you are in a big city, such as mine, there are countless pottery studios you can go to either make your ceramic creations from scratch or you can customize already-made ceramics. This would be such a cute bonding idea with your friends, as you can talk throughout the experience, catching up with each other’s lives. This would also allow for your creativity to flow through your veins, making cute ceramic pieces for yourself or a loved one.

Scrapbooking:

Wouldn’t it be so cute to do a Galentine’s photoshoot and then make a scrapbook, remembering the memories from the photoshoot that last forever? I love scrapbooking and it’s such a therapeutic way to go crazy with stickers, washi tape, and colors! This could become an annual tradition, with every year comparing the last year’s scrapbook with a new one!

Galentine’s Picnic:

I have seen so many pictures of the most Pinterest-looking picnics on my feed. Everyone can dress up in their cutest outfits and as a group, you can decide on a theme, whether that is fairy, bows, or heart-themed. You can also fit in a potluck, allowing people to make food that reminds them of love.

Powerpoint Night:

I just did a PowerPoint night a few weeks ago with friends, and it is so much fun seeing what everyone is into! You can talk about anything and nothing is out of bounds. It would make you laugh and cry, because, at least for my friends and I, we made ours so insane.

Spa Night:

This year has been exhausting enough for everyone, especially for us in college who are entering the midterm era soon. A spa night will allow everyone to destress and relax with your besties, giving makeovers to others and bonding in an intimate way!
