I have a confession to make… I may or may not be 25 and I may or may not have a driver’s license still. Now, if your first reaction was: “Dang, at your big age…” I am right there with you. In all honesty though, I definitely deserve some grace, I am originally from New York… you know the city of PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION *cue SpongeBob’s imagination gif*.

When I tell you guys I literally walked and rode on a bus/train through all 5 boroughs, I’m not joking. Heck, I even transferred upstate to UAlbany and would even do 3 hour bus rides. My down bad moment was definitely the 16 hour bus ride to Ohio… but that’s a story for another day.

Moving to Miami has definitely had some challenges & the main one is definitely the fact that I still don’t have a license! It’s not like I’ve never tried or wanted to drive (although I definitely went through an extreme anxiety phase when it came to getting behind the wheel) I actually do know how to drive- the basics.. relax, lets not get excited here, I’m no William Byron. However, here we are- well me, here I am at my big age with no license.

But hey guess what! Now that I will be attending classes in person & have a part time job & many other things in my day to day schedule I am practically FORCED this year to get my license! Hip hip hooray! And in the famous words of our fabulous yellow sponge friend: I’M READY.

Hi! My name is Ariana Espinoza. I am Ecuadorian & I was raised in New York. Im currently transitioning to a Digital TV & Multimedia Production major as a Sophomore transfer. I am also a mom to a beautiful boy & three cats. I love watching reality TV and event planning (as well as DIY-ing everything for those events) I am very excited to be a part of HerCampus at FIU as I have had prior experience within the HerCampus multiverse! I was a writer & social media manager (Facebook) for HerCampus MMC & was a part of Campus Trendsetters. This year, I plan on getting involved even more within the HerCampus community while writing articles from a much older perspective. I truly do love it!
