There is no doubt, that every person understands the value of having a good outer layer. That is why we wear a raincoat on rainy days, use mittens to protect us from the cold weather, and wear a helmet when going on bike rides. But by far, the most impressive outer protection you will ever encounter is your skin. It is 8-11 pounds of watertight protection covering every inch of your body and if you did not already know, it’s the largest organ in your body.

Having perfect skin sounds almost impossible especially when we are exposing our skin to ultraviolet radiation from the sun. On a daily basis, our skin collects airborne particles that without a proper facial skincare routine can be toxic to the skin. Do not worry and keep on reading because the perfect homemade facemask is easier,  more economical, and more beneficial than you can ever imagine.

I present to you the “Oatmeal Homemade Facemask.” After being very enthusiastic about achieving smooth and clean textured skin I decided to experiment with natural ingredients that have beneficial properties for the skin. I found that by mixing all natural honey, uncooked oatmeal, and non-fat Greek yogurt made the perfect replenishing blend for my skin.

Honey is a natural antibacterial so it is great in preventing impurities such as acne and blackheads. It is also full of antioxidants that prevent aging and help give your skin a more tightened appearance and my favorite above all it is extremely moisturizing, it will leave your skin with a natural sun-kissed glow.

The second ingredient is uncooked oatmeal. If you already love to eat oatmeal you are going to love it even more now that you know it is part of your guide to having flawless skin. Oatmeal is an antibacterial ingredient, which inhibits the spread of bacteria and it does a fantastic job in soaking up excess oil.  Using oatmeal as part of your skin care routine is inexpensive and beyond beneficial.

The last ingredient is non-fat Greek yogurt. Yogurt helps soothe inflamed skin because it contains zinc, which regulates oil production and works as a mild astringent. An astringent works on your skin by minimizing the appearance of pores.

Preparation:

–    1 tablespoon of all natural honey

–    2 tablespoons of uncooked oatmeal grains

–    1 tablespoon of non-fat Greek yogurt

–    Mix ingredients into a bowl and refrigerate for 15 min for a cooling sensation

Application:

–    Prior to applying the facial mask make sure your skin is makeup free. A great makeup and airborne particle remover is “Gentle Cleansing Milk” with velvet peony extract from the cosmetic line Dior. I must say I am in love with this make-up-removing product and it can be used on both dry and sensitive skin.

–    Apply the mask evenly throughout the skin and let sit for 20 min. You will begin to notice mask hardening on your face.

–    After 20 min wash face entirely and notice the amazing results.

–    I recommend doing this facial mask twice a week for optimal results.

Achieving perfect skin does not have to be hard. In fact, the way you portray yourself says a lot about who you are as a person. Being able to maintain healthy skin and preventing skin diseases is crucial in today’s generation. Don’t worry about applying extremities of makeup on your face to feel better. Start by taking care of your largest organ! Embrace your skin, embrace your beauty, and let your inner light with a combination of healthy skin tell the world a different message.

Love and Inspiration,

For you,

Always,
