Part of the appeal of Fordham University is all the opportunities New York City offers. Manhattan is an amazing place and there is always something to do. However, the costs add up and it’s important to learn how to survive on a college budget. Luckily Walgreens, right across the street from Rose Hill, offers fantastic beauty bargains hidden in its aisles. Sure we all would love to live the luxurious lifestyle of expensive salon products and pricey beauty garb…but believe me, you can get that gorgeous look on a budget at Walgreens and use that extra cash to go enjoy all the activities Manhattan has to offer! I compiled a list of some of my favorite products and I can assure you that I actually use and love all of them.

Jergens Natural Glow
I must admit that I am one of those girls that, despite my fair skinned genetics, hates to be pale.  However, the long-term effects of tanning beds, and the potential streakiness of overnight tanning lotions make me hesitant to indulge.  Luckily, I discovered one product a few years ago that I have been faithful to ever since.  Jergens Natural Glow is a tanning lotion that progressively builds over a week.  This means no awkward streaks, but an even, golden color.

Neutrogena Body Clear Body Wash in Pink Grapefruit
With spring inching closer and closer and shoulder-baring tops making their first appearances, no one wants to suffer the horrors of bacne.  Luckily, Neutrogena makes a delightful product called Body Clear Body Wash.  The Pink Grapefruit flavor smells absolutely delicious and leaves your skin soft, fresh and clear of any blemishes.

Ban Deodorant in Sweet Surrender
After trying Ban Deodorant I never turned back.  The Sweet Surrender flavor has delicious fruity aromas and leaves you smelling fresh and delicious instead of like laundry or baby powder.  It also never leaves white marks and lasts all day!

Vaseline
Vaseline is a multi-faceted beauty tool that I simply can’t live without.  I mainly use it on my lips before I bare the cold weather to prevent dryness, peeling, or cracking.  (It also leaves them with a flirty shine).  However, Vaseline can also be used to treat cuticles and soften hands.

Neutrogena Acne Stress Control Face Wash
I can’t deny that I have always struggled with imperfect skin and I was devastated when my pricey, “high quality” face wash ran out.  I begrudgingly perused the aisles of Walgreens and opted for Neutrogena Acne Stress Control.  It worked even better then the expensive face wash I was using before!  It has a calming minty smell and really helped with redness and blemishes.

Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes
As much as I try to take care of my skin, there will always be those nights where I just can’t muster up the energy to go through the whole complicated process.  But even on those nights I will always remove all of my make up with Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes.  It is as easy as, literally, rubbing a moist towelette all over my face and it is excellent for removing eye makeup.  Walgreens offers many brands including Neutrogena, L’Oreal, and Garnier.

Shick Intuition Plus Razors
We all know that shaving is a time consuming and potentially messy event.  However, Shick Intuition Plus razors make the process much quicker and far less messy.  It completely nullifies the need for shaving cream since it lathers and shaves with one easy stroke.  The blades usually last me two to three shaving sessions and you can buy them in packs of three.  They make moisturizing versions as well as blades for sensitive skin, and Schick Intuition Plus always leaves my legs silky smooth.
