With the lights twinkling and Christmas music playing in the background, you can’t help but want to settle down by the fire with a hot cup of cocoa and some yummy cookies! Instead of the traditional chocolate chip (sorry Santa!) why not try another recipe? Hershey’s Peanut Butter Blossoms perhaps?
These are by far my favorite cookies, and every year I make them with my dad. And they’re really simple! Here’s how you make them!
Ingredients
- 48 Hershey’s Kisses in Milk Chocolates
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup REESE’S Creamy Peanut Butter
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Additional granulated sugar
Directions
1. Heat oven to 375°F. Remove wrappers from chocolates. (Don’t forget to sneak a few to munch on!)
2. Beat shortening and peanut butter in large bowl until well blended.
3. Add 1/3 cup granulated sugar and brown sugar; beat until fluffy.
4. Add egg, milk and vanilla; beat well. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; gradually beat into peanut butter mixture.
5. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll in granulated sugar; place on ungreased cookie sheet.
6. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Immediately press a chocolate into center of each
cookie; cookie will crack around edges.
7. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.
8. Cool completely.
This recipe makes about 48 cookies. These cookies are so good, you will not be able to eat just one! They’re also great to make with younger siblings or cousins because of the hand on experience! If you have any of your favorite recipes or decide to try this one out, share with us!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
