Describe your style in three words: Classy, timeless and fashionable.

Outfit details: Simple black shirt-dress with leopard print ballet flats.

Why did you choose this outfit? I always wear simple, classic clothing. I am one who believes in the beauty of a simple black dress because it can be dressed up or down, depending on the occasion. Usually I’ll add just a little bit of color or animal print to change the outfit up and keep it interesting. This outfit is comfortable and easy to wear, while still looking stylish.

Any tips for Fordham fashionistas? The location of our campus is both a blessing and a real problem. In only 17 minutes on Metro North, you’re in the heart of Manhattan surrounded by store windows displaying beautiful, but expensive clothing. Believe me, I know the struggle. Within the first couple of weeks of living here, I had already spent half of the money I had saved up from working last summer on clothes and shoes. Ladies, please take my advice on this. I know it’s tempting when you’re so close to Fifth Avenue, Times Square and SoHo, but you have to set up a budget for yourself. And if you find that you’re missing a specific item, such as a sweater or a pair of jeans, go into a reasonably-priced store specifically looking for that item and do NOT get distracted. If you’re ever in a bind, go to TJ Maxx. It’s compatible with a college student’s budget, they’re clothing is actually pretty nice and it’s literally right across the street from campus.
