Up until this year, I didn’t understand the hype around a spin class, especially around Soul Cycle. I knew people who did it religiously and I couldn’t understand how people had become so attached to a fitness routine. I thought it was just a fad. But then I tried it for myself. All it took was fifteen minutes of my first class to see what everyone was talking about. The music, the mantras, all led up to an adrenaline rush that made me feel like I could take on the world. It was certainly a challenge, but I felt so accomplished. I was surprised by how the instructors had managed to make a workout class fun. Not to mention, I would request each song on my personal playlist if I could. An added bonus was definitely the therapy session. The instructors telling me how much I was capable of and how they related things in my life to each moment of the class was empowering. Without a doubt, it served its purpose because I felt fit. If only the classes were more reasonable for a college student’s budget, I’d be there almost every day.
The studio is filled with inspirational mantras like these.
If you want the whole package, you can purchase some Soul Cycle apparel and look good while you workout too!
