Finals are over, and it’s tempting to just spend Christmas break relaxing and sleeping (which you should definitely spend time doing!) But since there’s a lot of free time that you have, there’s also some fun things you should try doing. Here are things to accomplish that are both enjoyable and productive (for the most part).
1. Make a mood board
This is a great way to decorate your dorm for when you get back to school. All you need is a cork board and you can print out images or cut pictures out for magazines to put on it. It’s a great way to get motivated for the upcoming semester!31e2ebba79b57bd308b4014b54bed443–office-spaces-home-office-space.jpg
2. Apply for a seasonal job
A seasonal job is extremely beneficial because you’ll be able to earn cash while you’re at home. You’ll also feel productive for getting out and working. You can save the money you earn to use at school next semester!

3. Clean your closet
Clean out your closet at home! Donate clothes you don’t wear anymore and choose which ones you might want to bring back to school.giphy.gif
4. Spend time with friends and family
This might seem like an obvious one, but it’s important! A lot of times we get distracted by all the things other people are posting on Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, etc, that we forget to actually make sure we’re spending quality time with the people we love. Try to make sure that you’re not spending all your time on social media and appreciate the time that you have with these people while you’re at home.giphy.gif
4. Make New Year’s Resolutions
Now is the perfect time to make New Year’s Resolutions! Whether big or small, it’s great to try to set goals and/or improve on something. I think it’s the best to set goals that are a mixture of both so you don’t end up overwhelming yourself and forgetting about your resolutions altogether. These resolutions can include working out more, getting better grades, etc.
5. Volunteer
There’s no better time to volunteer than during the holiday season. Look for places in your home town to volunteer in. Many places during the holidays are looking for even more volunteers to help out. I volunteered at a soup town in my area and it felt so rewarding so I would definitely recommend that you try to do so!553787_272388112862066_871452261_n-600x.jpg
6. Watch Netflix
Of course, you’re probably going to end up watching Netflix. It’s been a long semester of school work so you definitely deserve it. Also you might’ve been too busy during the semester to watch your favorite t.v. shows/movies, but now you are more than enough free time to watch them. You can catch up on your favorite show, binge watch another, or start a new one!

I’m hoping that a few of my suggestions make you feel productive over break! But besides these suggestions, remember that it’s most important that you take time to relax. A semester of exams, papers, and presentations, is stressful. You deserve to relax above everything else! Happy Holidays!
