And just like that, a new season is upon us. With that, a whole new wardrobe. A new chance to transform your style. The fashion world provides us with a slew of new trends to try out, some of them easier than others. Trends include blasts from the past like tie-dye and acid washed denim, feminine boiler suits, prints on prints, and surfer-inspired threads. There’s something special about wearing new things, like you might be a different, better person. Here is a collection of trends for spring that might just do exactly that.
Head-to-Toe Neutrals
(Burberry)
The best thing about neutrals is that they go with everything – including other neutrals. As someone whose wardrobe is 85% black, having a new neutral gives me the chance to expand my wardrobe without sacrificing those comfort of colors that go with everything.
Stand-Out Colors
(David Koma)
Neon has been a major trend recently, especially classic highlighter colors like pink, green, and yellow. The runways have take this to a broader level, introducing all shades of stand-out colors. Bright, monochromatic pantsuits appear to be the most popular form of expression in this category, as the menswear trend continues. Anything that makes you pop out walking down the street!
Fishnet
(Chloe)
Crochet is not just a music festival trend anymore, like it has been for the past few years. It’s time to bring it to the real world. It’s easiest to layer, which means you could throw a piece on over an outfit you’re already wearing (within reason). Combine this trend with another and search for a unique color crochet piece. Channel your inner mermaid!
Biker Shorts
(Jacquemus)
The biker shorts trend came to the forefront roughly a year ago, and is still going strong. Though they can be worn casually (my personal favorite is pairing them with a cool vintage tee), the runways have focused on dressing them up. Show off some leg, but still feel comfortable sitting in any position – it’s a win-win.
Feathers & Fringe
(Balmain)
And tassels, oh my! Anything that adds a little extra around the edges. For fringe especially, metallic is the way to go. It’s all about combining the hippie chick with a harder flair. Feathers and fringe and frills were added any possible edge, from hats to shoes, and everything in between.
