The recent Paris Haute Couture Spring 2021 Fashion week shows were some of my favorites and I fell in love with looking at all of them on the Vogue Runway app. I’ve been a fan of Haute Couture since I was 10 and started watching the Project Runway couture challenges. However, it’s difficult to get any real everyday inspiration from the shows, so recently I’ve turned to the streetwear photos from the fashion shows themselves to check out trends on real fashion icons. Here are my favorite street style photos from Paris which will all be based off corresponding numbers from Vogue: https://www.vogue.com/slideshow/spring-2021-couture-paris-street-style
- Fringe (8/48)
-
This photo really stood out to me, not just from a photography point of view with the unique setting and interesting subject, but I also love the fringe detail on the outfit itself. Fringe has always been something that I’ve reserved for cowboys and Halloween costumes, but in this look, I think it’s a visually appealing detail in the garment itself and definitely something I’d be interested in trying in my own closet.
- Prints (22/48)
-
I think this picture also stood out to me because of the photographic juxtaposition of the neutral beige outfit in contrast with the bright patterns, but the patterned look is definitely one that I want to use as inspiration in my own wardrobe. I think pattern mixing is such a good way to show off truly impeccable style as it takes such a good eye to properly mix prints in a way that works (as this person DEF does). It may take me a bit to get the courage to step out in such drastic prints, but it’s definitely something I want to keep an eye on.
- Shearling (34/48)
-
I’ve seen shearling coats as a definite trend this season, but this one especially caught my eye. Mixing leather and shearling together is such a great texture combination, although this one will definitely be harder to replicate in my wardrobe. I can’t say I own such an incredible jacket, but it’s definitely a unique combination that I’d love to try out in other ways (maybe some leather pants??)
- Belted Puffer (40/48)
-
This look is everything I’ve ever wanted and more (dramatic, but true). The combination of the feminine purse and the bulky street style garments is magical, as well as the silhouette of the whole look. The belted puffer is definitely what caught my attention first, especially since it’s a look that could be almost considered easy to reproduce. While we might not all have Prada hanging up in our closet, I can guarantee most of us have a big puffer and a fun belt to play around with!
- Puffer Pt 2 (47/48)
-
While I love the silhouette of this look as well with the big puffer, what initially caught my attention in this look is the bright accent of color in outwear, which isn’t something that seems to appear a lot. Nevertheless, this oversized puffer looks so stylish, so unique, and most importantly, so warm. Definitely want to look out for a dupe of this in the future.
- Split-Hem (48/48)
-
The details of this look were really the highlight for me. The Balenciagas with the split hem leggings is such a statement, as are the extra-long sleeves of the sweater. The unique styling of both the pants and shirt together is such a genius combination and make this fit so effortlessly chic.
I certainly don’t have the budget to perfectly duplicate any of these looks, but most of them are surprisingly simple when broken down. The attention to detail is really what makes these outfits shine, and I plan to bring a lot of this inspiration to my spring wardrobe this year!
