A house cannot become a house without a basement. I assume that we all have heard and know the story of the three little pigs? If not, you should look it up. It may be a children’s tale, but the message throughout the story is one of the most important things to learn about.Â
College is one of the most important aspects of a person’s life. You develop so many skills that you will use later on down the road. This is why being single in your twenties, especially early or prior to that age, is crucial.Â
Let me ask you, how do you make decisions? You ask yourself what you want, right? How do you know when to stop or when to start? You decide, right? That is all because you know yourself. The very first step to anything, even relationships, is from within. This takes a lot of investment, doesn’t it? That is why you can’t afford to be distracted. Being single is the best way to avoid this, because you are focusing solely on yourself, not worrying about other people judging you. Not worrying about pleasing or displeasing your significant other and whatnot. Not worrying about this, or that. Whose life is this? Yours. So why focus some of the most important years of your life on someone who could potentially break your heart?Â
It’s okay that you don’t graduate on time and are slower than others. It’s okay that you switch your major multiple times. Hey, I switched my major four times and my minor seven times! You do you. ou will discover yourself along the way. Life is a journey, right? In a way, college is the beginning of life’s journey. Like a strong foundation of the example of the house I mentioned earlier, college is the foundation for moving forward throughout life. Building a strong foundation takes hard work and time. It takes a lot of attention and requires a lot of energy from you. That is why being single is the best favor that you can do for yourself when you are in your twenties.Â
