1. Wake up with a Purpose
So you wake up and you think to yourself, eh, just five more minutes and I’ll get up. Now here’s what you do in this situation: get up. A famous quote reads, “When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive, to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.” We must seize the day as college students because these are the times we’ll be telling our grandchildren about. These are the times we’ll wish we could relive. Here’s a key note: make a list the night before you wake up of all the tasks you want to accomplish the following day. You’ll arise in the morning knowing you have goals that need to be completed. It will be your choice to get everything done.
2. Make a Healthy Breakfast
We all know you’re not Paula Dean y’all, but it’s time to take out that Keurig and brew yourself a fresh cup of coffee. Studies prove that a cup of coffee in the morning actually helps the mind retain information. Now if you don’t know how to brew coffee, it’s time to learn. The Starbucks lines on campus get annoyingly long and who likes looking at their cup first thing in the morning to see their name spelt wrong. After you brew that coffee, next up is some sort of food intake. A bagel, fruit and some eggs for breakfast is the way to go.
3. Workout
You might be thinking: this girl is crazy, there’s no way I’m working out in the morning. But did you know that working out releases chemicals in your body called endorphins? These endorphins energize your mind while activating a euphoric feeling to your body. Working out is beneficial to your health and helps you feel great about yourself.Â
4. Dress to Impress
Everyday is a special event. Take the lovely ladies from Sex and the City as an example. We can agree that Carrie Bradshaw’s outlook on life made us want to get off the couch, actually get ready and conquer the world. We all have a little Carrie Bradshaw in us that we must show the world. Whether it is the Carrie that wants to explore, fall in love or have a successful career, we all must dress the part. I’m not saying break out the pumps and Henri Girl dress that you just bought. But rather, dress in what makes you feel comfortable. If you want to switch up your look, check out the latest trends. Websites like LookBook and Pinterest always have trendy outfits that you can mimic at your own affordable cost.Â
