7 Cocktails You Have to Try Over Spring Break

It’s that time of year again! Spring break is the time where you have the opportunity to embrace a small sample of the summer to come through vacationing and cocktails. Whether you go on break to a beach house, a cabin in the mountains or just stay home to soak up the sun by the pool, all of these drinks are sure to bring some fun to your Spring Break! Enjoy and remember to drink responsibly!

1. Bohemian Blaster Party Punch

Ingredients:

-1.8 quarts pineapple-orange juice (7.5 cups)

-1.8 quarts pink grapefruit juice (7.5 cups)

– 3 cups gold rum

-3 cups mango rum

-3 cups coconut rum

-3 cups passion fruit rum

-2 cups pineapple rum

-1 cup banana rum

-3/4 cup grenadine

Directions:

-Pour all of the ingredients into a large 2-gallon drink dispenser.

-Refrigerate for a couple of hours.

-Serve it up and feel free to garnish with orange slices.

2. Beach House Cosmos

Ingredients:

-4 cups of limeade

-2 cups vodka

-1 cup cranberry juice

-1/2 cup triple sec

-Lime slices

Directions:

-Mix all of the ingredients into a pitcher.

-Let the pitcher chill for 2 hours in the refrigerator. 

-Then pour into glasses and add a few lime slices for color.

3. Watermelon Mojitos

Ingredients:

-Watermelon

-White rum

-Club Soda

-Mint leaves

-Lime

-Simple syrup

Directions:

-Add 2 teaspoons syrup, ½ a lime (juice squeezed out), and the mint leaves.

-Use a muddler to gently twist several times around the glass to crush the mint leaves.

-Add 2 shots of white rum.

-Then top off with club soda but only fill up half the cup.

-Cut up watermelon slices and then puree them in a blender.

-Fill the rest of the cup with the watermelon puree and garnish with an extra watermelon slice.

4. Grapefruit Salty Dog

Ingredients:

-1/3 cup freshly squeezed grapefruit juice

-2 tbsp vodka

-Sea salt

-Grapefruit slices

-Ice

Directions:

-Wet the rim of your glass with a grapefruit slice. Then dip the rim in sea salt.

-Fill the glass with ice (I prefer crushed).

-Add in the grapefruit juice and the vodka into a shaker.

-Shake the mixture and pour it into glass once complete.

-Finish your drink off with a grapefruit slice garnish.

5. Prosecco Cocktails

Ingredients:

-1/3 cup blackberries

-1/3 cup water

-1/3 cup sugar

-1 bottle of prosecco

-Thyme (for garnish)

Directions:

-Put the blackberries, water and sugar into a small saucepan.

-Let them boil and then turn to low and let simmer for 10 minutes.

-Strain the blackberries out and let the syrup cool.

-Add 2 tbsp. of the syrup to a glass and then add in the prosecco.

-Finish the drink by garnishing with thyme and a couple of excess blackberries.

6. Peach Basil Moscow Mule

Ingredients:

-A couple of fresh basil leaves

-1 lemon

-2 oz. peach vodka

-6 oz. ginger beer

Directions:

-Fill the glass with ice.

-Then add in the vodka and the ginger beer.

-Squeeze one quarter of the lemon into the glass.

-Add in a couple basil leaves and then stir all together.

-Garish with lemon slices if you so wish.

7. Blueberry Mojito

Ingredients:

-1 cup fresh blueberries

-4 ounces white rum

-Mint leaves

-2 teaspoons sugar

-2 limes (for the juice)

-6 ounces of club soda

-Ice

Directions:

-Muddle the blueberries in a glass until smooth. Set this aside.

-Use a muddler to blend in mint leave and sugar into a glass.

-Then add in the rum, lime juice and pre-muddled blueberry mixture.

-Pour this mixture over club soda and ice. Stir.

-Garnish the drink with extra blueberries and mint leaves if desired.
