With nearly 40K students, FSU houses an array of organizations. One sector of these organizations that isn’t as well-known is our campus ministries. FSU houses more than a dozen different campus ministries and faith-based organizations. Whether you are just beginning your faith journey or have deep roots in your hometown church, joining a campus ministry is a great way to build a strong community and a stellar support system that will remain by your side through your college years and beyond. Here’s a taste of some of the amazing ministries FSU has to offer.
Noles Young Life
Noles Young Life is a vibrant student ministry that’s a part of the Young Life organization. With a focus on friendship and community building, students meet on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. for College Night, where they do games and have gospel conversations, called Club Talks, at group members’ homes.
Allison Fleming, an FSU senior, described how friendship and community are truly at the forefront of the Noles Young Life ministry. “When I came to Young Life for the first time my sophomore year, I fell in love with the joyful environment and the kind people I interacted with,” Fleming shared. “I’ve met so many kind people from all walks of life, and I’ve been able to find the Lord through Young Life.”
In addition to College Night every Wednesday, Young Life also hosts fun social events throughout the year, and group members often do activities together during the week. They also embark on a fun, refreshing retreat every fall, which Fleming shared is where her favorite memories of Young Life were made. They have a GroupMe and a very active presence on Instagram, where you can find all their info.
Wesley Foundation
The FSU and TCC Wesley Foundation is an on-campus ministry that’s a part of the Methodist Church. Located right beside The Sweet Shop, Wesley has worship services every Sunday at 11 a.m., followed by group lunches and New Member meetings to foster new connections and friendships amongst its members. Every Wednesday night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wesley hosts a group dinner and activity-centered community groups. Often, community groups are capped off with late-night worship services. Other events, like weekend retreats and Easter Fest, are held to promote further community building and spiritual growth.
“On my first Sunday on campus, I came to Wesley and fell in love with how welcoming and affirming it was,” said Hannah Squires, a current FSU freshman. “It’s an organization that’s excepting of all people. We have a lot of fun.” Squires also explained how relevant the services are to the things college students go through, describing them as “a breath of fresh air.”
Wesley has an Instagram and Facebook page that is constantly being updated with new information and ways you can reach out to the staff. You can also pop by Wesley anytime.
UKirk Tallahassee
UKirk is a college ministry that’s a part of the Presbyterian church. Located above Calvin’s Coffee House, right by the FSU College of Music, UKirk has community dinners every Thursday night starting at 6 p.m., followed by a worship service.
Annie Lane, an FSU junior and the current worship intern at UKirk, explained that the services are musical and pretty discussion-based. “My friend from choir brought me to UKirk after telling me there’d be free food, and I had an amazing experience,” she said. “It’s such a welcoming, friendly, and reflective environment. I’ve met my best friends there.” Lane said she loves being worship intern and getting to choose the songs for the services.
In addition to Thursday night dinners and worship, UKirk also does fun social events and an annual fall retreat to Montreat, North Carolina. Lane has also started a book study in the UKirk library from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. every Tuesday, where she and others dive into scripture.

Salt Company
Salt Company is an organization that works to establish ministries on college campuses across the country. Salt Company is housed in City Church Tallahassee, a large, nondenominational church that’s just a short drive away from campus. City Church has three worship services on Sunday mornings. Also, every Tuesday at 8 p.m., City Church hosts Salt Night, which is a worship service for college students. There are also city groups, which meet weekly at numerous times throughout the week, allowing people to get more connected with Salt Company, build a Christian community, and grow in their faith through the weekly study of the bible.
Many people in Salt have shared how monumental Salt Company has been in their journeys as college students. The worship services are described as being compelling and inspiring, and many have admitted that this organization is where they found their people. Salt focuses on building community and mentorship amongst its members. In addition to Tuesday night and Sunday morning worship services, there are also an abundance of social events, community service opportunities, conferences, and retreats that Salt Company members can take part in.
Salt Company has a stunning presence on Instagram, where they are always posting fun and exciting things to get you informed on everything that’s going on. You can also head to City Church on a Tuesday.
Baptist Collegiate Ministry
Baptist Collegiate Ministry, or BCM, is an on-campus ministry that’s a part of the Baptist church. Located right by the FSU UPS Store, the ministry has a variety of events and opportunities for students. Every Tuesday at 7 p.m., they host a worship service, some of which include accompanying dress-up themes, like Movie Character Night. Following these services, the group often socializes and eats food together. They also have fun retreats on and off campus.
Jillian Katz, an FSU junior and the current events coordinator for this ministry, pointed out that her favorite BCM memory is the Valentine’s sleepover, where girls got together and had a slumber party at BCM. BCM also hosts banquets and other social events throughout the year.
When asked to describe BCM in three words, Katz said, “Intentional, encouraging, and fun. I’ve met so many awesome people here. I wanted a place where I could go study and find a group of people that I shared a love for Christ with, and BCM has done that.”
Katz also emphasized how meaningful the BCM small groups were for her. Tribes (the small groups during the fall) and Discipleship groups (which occur in the spring) are designed for new members to foster meaningful connections within the ministry and catalyze deeper conversations about the Lord. Katz loved her small group so much that she is now leading one this semester.
