The International Bazaar at FSU (Florida State University) is an annual event, free for all FSU students, hosted by the Center for Global Engagement. With 14 on-campus cultural groups featuring facts, history and food about their respective cultures, this is not something anyone would want to miss.
Going strong for 48 years and counting, the 2023 International Bazaar is sure to be an exciting and informative event. As one of the most important events hosted by the Center for Global Engagement, the Bazaar draws in crowds of hundreds, which makes sense because entry is free for all current FSU students, faculty and staff. This year’s International Bazaar will feature 14 cultural groups from around the FSU campus. The event is taking place in the Global and Multicultural Engagement Building on Feb. 17 from 4-6:30 p.m.
Being an event hosted by the Center for Cultural Engagement, the International Bazaar exemplifies the center’s mission to highlight international diversity and promote a greater understanding and awareness of different cultures within the community of FSU. This event aims to highlight the complexity, beauty and all the fascinating aspects of the varying cultures that students at FSU belong to, while also offering the opportunity for members of these different cultural groups to share their heritage with pride.
Each cultural group will have a table display that showcases their culture’s heritage, traditions and history while also providing an educational and informative opportunity for attendees who want to know more about the different cultures that exist around the world and here on campus. Attendees can go from table to table, examine the displays thoughtfully put up by those participating in these events and talk with the participating students to hear all about their respective cultures.
In addition to the table displays from each group, there will also be cultural performances to watch and activities to partake in, each unique and intriguing. What may be the most interesting aspect of the International Bazaar to some is the exciting and tasty opportunity to sample different snacks and drinks presented by the various groups participating in this event. The refreshments and food samples will be available in The Globe dining room, and if you attend, I suggest that you try as much as you can.
The cultural groups that will be showcased at this year’s International Bazaar are:
• Arab Student Union
• Bangladeshi Student Association
• Cuban American Student Organization
• FSU Belly Dancers
• Hispanic Graduate Student Association
• Iranian Student Association
• Japanese Student Association
• La Societá Italiana

This year’s International Bazaar is a must-add to everyone’s calendar. From the incredible cultural table displays exhibited by the various groups to the performances and international refreshments available to sample, there is a plethora of activities to partake in that are sure to keep you entertained. Most importantly, however, the International Bazaar gives students the opportunity to not only share their cultures with pride, but it also offers attending students the ability to broaden their understanding of all the different cultures that make up the FSU community.
