Rise and shine caffeine addicts! I’ve got a proposal for you. Tomorrow, after you drag yourself out of bed and make it to your 8 a.m., you’re going to grab your study buddy, walk over to Sorority Row and hop in line in front of a cute little coffee truck, to reward yourselves with a sweet cup of coffee from The Frother’s Daughter! They open at 9 a.m., but the line grows quickly with red-eyed students who just pulled an all-nighter studying for their big exam and are eagerly awaiting their savior cup of joe.
The Frother’s Daughter, the mobile caffeine vendor, is a popular spot for many students on campus. This February marks two years of business for the 6×10 coffee shop trailer, which is sharing love and celebration with its customers. In honor of the anniversary, here’s a little insight into how it all began.
Owner Rosalyn Wilsey grew up in the kitchen of Daddio’s, her father’s pizza restaurant, so she’s no stranger to what it takes to run a successful food service business. Her experiences prepared her for the moment her father proposed a project for the two of them, none other than the traveling coffee truck that is now The Frother’s Daughter. They began serving up lattes in February of 2021, after gutting and transforming a 6×10 trailer into a lovely little kitchen and developing a brand image and website. Rosalyn and her father source their coffee from Lucky Goat, another local favorite that can be found in many stationary locations around Tallahassee.
As February 2023 marks its second anniversary, The Frother’s Daughter has several celebratory specials for new and loyal coffee lovers. Beginning Feb. 1, patrons can grab a punch card and sip their way to an Anniversary Frother’s Sips Tee. The drinks highlighted this month and listed on the punch card are all the products of The Frother’s Daughter’s very own employees. These unique concoctions include Sundae Mornings, Party Animal, Coffee Run, The Yogi Bear, S’more Tea Please and Val’s Valentine. If you’re not up for the adventure of a coffee-tasting spree this month, they’ll also be doing multiple giveaways and raffles throughout the birthday month! So, if you want to stick to your personal crafted order, you can still share the love.
If any of those sound good, you can check out their Instagram @thefrothersdaughter, where they pose their daily whereabouts at the beginning of each week. Convenient for busy students, the truck is most frequently found parked on W Park Avenue in front of the Tri Delta sorority house on weekdays. Also, if you want the caffeinated goodness all to yourself, you can hire The Frother’s Daughter to fuel the guests at your next party or private event.
To celebrate with them, stop by the truck for a cup of coffee and grab a punch card to sip your way through the lovely lattes. The challenge started on Feb. 1, but it’s not too late to get sipping!
Be sure to check out The Frother’s Daughter on their website and on all socials @thefrothersdaughter. You can also subscribe to their newsletter for even more caffeinated goodness.
