Your Guide To Attending FSU Sporting Events

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

As FSU Seminoles, we take pride in our athletics, as these are a huge asset to school and student life. FSU boasts several athletic traditions and a diverse range of sports teams. From the lively crowds of football games at Doak Campbell Stadium to the intensity of basketball matches at the Tucker Center, attending FSU sports events is a thrilling experience for fans. As students, this experience is made easy for us, as FSU often allows free student tickets with a university ID! With this opportunity, I have made it a goal of mine to attend a sporting event for each athletic team during my four years here at FSU, and I encourage you to do the same! If you don’t know quite where to start, I’ve got you covered with all the information you need to know on supporting our Noles.

Football

Florida State football is undoubtedly one of the most celebrated aspects of our school. It’s a necessity for everybody to experience a packed Doak Campbell Stadium on a Saturday.

When?

We’re already halfway through our football season! You can find the rest of the team’s playing schedule here.

Where?

Doak Campbell Stadium is the Florida State football team’s home with over 79,000 fans cheering in the stands!

How do I get tickets?

Nearly all of our games have already been sold out this season, with our final home game against North Alabama being the only one available! The process of receiving a student ticket starts the week of the game and is undoubtedly the most complex process of all the sports. Students should log on to the FSU student ticket website each Monday of a game at noon. This page takes you to a waiting queue to request your tickets. This year, once students place their request, they are entered into a weighted raffle that operates on a point system. By the end of the day Tuesday, you should receive a second email stating if you got tickets.

Soccer

If you are unfamiliar with our stellar women’s soccer team, let me introduce you! Holding a first-place rank and an undefeated title, attending one of these games is definitely worth putting on your bucket list.

When?

Although the end of the season is quickly approaching, you can find the soccer game schedule here.

Where?

You can attend all home soccer games at the Seminole Soccer Complex on the west side of campus. It holds approximately 2,000 fans. Seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

How do I get Tickets?

Tickets are available at the gate upon arrival!

Volleyball

Volleyball games in Tully Gymnasium give fans an intimate experience of a fast-paced, energetic game! This team deserves more support from fans and students.

When?

The volleyball schedule can be found here.

Where?

The Tully Gymnasium hosts all of our women’s volleyball events and allows fans to sit close to the action.

How do I get Tickets?

Tickets are available at the venue before games and are free for all fans!

Men’s Basketball

An FSU basketball game is just one of those events you must attend. Don’t miss out on the fun, from slam dunks to three-pointers!

When?

The beginning of basketball season is almost here! Get ahead of the action by finding the 2023-24 schedule here.

Where?

The Donald L. Tucker Civic Center is on the east side of campus, differing from nearly all the other sporting facilities. It hosts about 12,100 fans and holds all of FSU’s basketball games.

How do I get tickets?

Tickets should be purchased online or through the student gameday website before game time. If you can’t complete this ahead of time, don’t worry! Tickets are often available at the box office.

Women’s Basketball

Our women’s basketball team knows how to put on a fight, and this is precisely the kind of action you don’t want to miss out on.

When?

You can stay up to date and find the details of each game here.

Where?

You can find all the women’s basketball games at the same place as the men’s: at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center!

How do I get tickets?

It’s recommended that tickets be found online prior to game time or at the box office upon arrival. I recommend downloading the FSU gameday app and logging in with your student credentials! (Hint: You can use this tool with all FSU sports.)

Baseball

Take me out to the ball game at Dick Howser Stadium! You will find me in the stands with some popcorn this spring.

When?

Although the regular season doesn’t kickstart for another few months, all your baseball updates can be found here

Where?

Seating about 6,700 fans, Mike Martin Field at Dick Howser Stadium hosts all of our baseball events.

How do I get tickets?

Tickets are available similarly to basketball games online and at the box office leading up to the first pitch.

Softball

After attending the softball World Series finals last year and taking home silver, I cannot wait to see what the softball team has in store for this season! Attending a game is the way to find out!

When?

Softball season games and updates can be found by looking here.

Where?

The Seminole Softball Complex, home to JoAnne Graf Field, accommodates our softball team and all their home games.

How do I get tickets?

Tickets can be found through the online ticket portal or outside the venue at the box office before games.

Being a Florida State Seminole is more than academics and a diploma — it’s about immersing yourself in a spirited community and creating memories! So grab your garnet and gold apparel, put on your chopping arm, and meet me at an FSU sports game. This is the perfect opportunity to show school pride and support our teams! Go Noles!
