Big news on the cooking show front! The Don’t Worry Darling and Midsommar star Florence Pugh has something in the works!
Winning a British Independent Film Award for her role in the drama Lady Macbeth, this bubbly English star first gained recognition in 2016. Later taking roles in a remake of the film adaptation of Little Women as Amy March and the new Marvel series Hawkeye as Yelena Belova, according to IMDb. Pugh recently starred in a thriller/mystery with fan favorite Harry Styles.
When Pugh isn’t acting, she takes to Instagram and YouTube through her series “Cooking With Flo.” Starting in 2020, during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, this internet series allowed Pugh to engage with her fans and share her love of cooking. Her cheery attitude and go-with-the-flow thinking quickly gained her thousands of viewers of old and new fans. Sharing some of her favorite easy-going recipes, Flo adds a relaxed energy to the cooking environment that fans just eat up. Pugh told Vogue, “I always like making a few mistakes because to me that’s where the best food and cooking comes from.”
Why is cooking important to Flo? She has said that she comes from a “big foodie family” and grew up loving trying new foods. Pugh told Vogue that her father, Clinton Pugh, is a restaurant owner of several establishments in Oxfordshire, England. Alongside her siblings, Flo grew up surrounded by hundreds of different types of cuisine while working in her father’s restaurants. Inspired by a calling to encourage others to try new cuisines and share some of the skills she has learned over the years, Pugh started sharing some of her favorite recipes via Instagram reels, including ratatouille, tzatziki dip, lobster ravioli and even a pasta dish entirely from scratch!
Above is from Flo’s Instagram, where she posted a picture with her father, Clinton Pugh, raving about his amazing cooking and even including a small promo for his restaurants. If you’re ever in Oxford, go check them out!
Insider writes that recently on Josh Horowitz’s podcast, “Happy Sad Confused,” Pugh announced her intentions of carrying on with a “Cooking With Flo” show. She admits that while there had been conversations of possibly creating an actual television show since the start of the Instagram series, schedules and intentions never really lined up, so the idea was tabled and “put on the back burner.” But there is good news for cooking and Florence fans; she says, “It’s definitely in the works, it’s happening. We’re trying to make something happen.”
While Pugh and her team had not released any specific details when this article was written, I suggest being on the lookout for more information regarding network announcements and production or release dates. In the meantime, check out her Instagram account to watch some old episodes and maybe make some of the recipes yourself! Remember, it’s not about being precise, it’s about having fun with it, going with the flow, and trying new cuisines!
