The world has been rough lately. Rarely is there a day that is not dampened by some heartbreak or political outbreak. And while, yes, it is important to pay attention to those things, it is also imperative that there’s some positive in the world. Thus, here are five news stories from last week that are too pure to miss out on.

1. Hidden Figures is the Top Grossing Oscars 2017 Movie
Hidden Figures, starring Taraji P. Henson, Janelle Monáe and Octavia Spencer, made huge waves in the film industry when it premiered last December. With Oscar season right around the corner, the movie has been garnering a lot of buzz, nominated for three awards. More importantly, the film has won over the box office with a total of 119.5 million overall earnings, beating out La La Land by a little over a million dollars. The success of the film, which features a predominantly black cast, along with other similarly cast movies like Fences and Moonlight, tells Hollywood that we want more diversity and honest representation in movies. And if you missed it in theaters, the SLC will be playing it this spring!

2. New Yorkers Join Forces to Remove Racist Graffiti
After discovering anti-Semitic slurs scrawled in Sharpie on the cars of a subway in New York City, many passengers banded together to remove the hate speech. After a passenger noted that Sharpie could be removed with hand sanitizers, people began digging through their bags, searching for tissues and hand sanitizer. The writing was quickly removed and the story went viral on social media sites, even getting shared by former first daughter Chelsea Clinton.

3. Dylan Sprouse’s Dog now has an Instagram
Your favorite blonde-haired, bowl-cut touting Disney Star took to social media yesterday, announcing that he had finally caved and made an Instagram account for his dog, Magnus (@magnusthedwarf). There’s not much else to this story, except for that Magnus is ADORABLE, and “thicc” as his Instagram bio claims.

4. Bill Nye has a New Netflix Show
On a similar note of childhood nostalgia, Bill Nye announced earlier last week that he will be debuting a Netflix Original Series entitled Bill Nye Saves the World. The show, which will be on Netflix in its entirety on April 21st, will consist of thirteen episodes that, in true Bill Nye form, will work to debunk anti-science claims. To help him fight against these myths, Nye will enlist the help of a plethora of celebrities, including Karlie Kloss, Tim Gunn and Steve Aoki. Mark your calendars!

5. Pam from the Office is now Welcome at Chili’s Nationwide
Anyone who has ever heard of The Office has probably “felt God in this Chili’s tonight,” just like actress Jenna Fischer, who played Pam Beesly on the hit NBC show, and her character was consequently banned from the chain restaurant after having one too many at the Dundies. Fischer tweeted a picture of herself earlier last week in front of a Chili’s, asking her followers if she should enter. The internet aflutter, diehard fans loved the tweet, and rejoiced when the Chili’s Twitter account replied, saying that Fischer was welcome in any Chili’s location.
