Get Pampered: 5 Tallahassee Nail Salons to Try for Your Next Mani

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

We’re back with another themed week on the site: Beauty Week. This semester, Her Campus FSU has created themed weeks dedicated to exclusive content we believe all of our readers should have access to. Keep up on the site for the next few days as we tackle everything from the best beauty brands to follow to the much-debated brazilian. Trust us, you don’t want to miss this.

It’s Friday. You just got out of class and this week has seriously kicked your butt. Or maybe it’s Monday and you are already overloaded with papers to write, meetings to go to and tons of stress. Either way, you deserve a little relaxation – and what better way to relax than getting pampered at a nail salon? Here’s a list of the five best nail salons in Tallahassee.

1. Violet Nails Salon & Spa

Located in the heart of college town, Violet Nails is a go-to choice for an after-class mani-pedi. After a short, easy walk from campus to the salon, enjoy a thorough and relaxing pedicure – one of their most recommended services – or go for an acrylic set of nails. Decently priced – perfect for thrifty university students – and staffed with kind, smiling and talented technicians, Violet Nails is a top choice. They are known for offering coupons during the various holiday seasons too. It is recommended that you call ahead and make a reservation, since everyone loves the salon’s atmosphere and prime service.

2. Royal Nail

If you are really looking for a pampering, Royal Nail will treat you like the queen (or king!) you are. Although this salon is a little on the pricier side, the treatment you get and the results of the technicians’ hard work is worth every penny. Complimentary drinks – both alcoholic and non-alcoholic – are offered to you as you walk in the door! In efforts to make you feel as royal and pampered as possible, the staff at the salon will seat you at the bar, or at your own table, and hand you a TV remote so that you are in charge. The salon is spacious, and reminiscent of Roman baths, creating an atmosphere of absolute calm. You may walk in to Royal Nail stressed beyond belief, but you will leave feeling relaxed and royal every time.

3. Nails La La

Wonderfully priced (a full set will only run you $20), Nails La La is a Tallahassee salon praised for their gel manicures and bubbly technicians. The atmosphere is comfy and cozy as the salon is located inside of a house – each room is warm and welcoming, and you really get to relax as you get your nails done. The technicians are praised for their meticulous and focused work, and the salon itself is reviewed as a very clean, orderly place. Though they have had some negative reviews on their pedicures, Nails La La is a great place to go when you want a manicure, cool conversation and homely vibes. A little birdie told us something about complimentary mimosas, if you need a little more convincing.

McKenna is a junior at Florida State University studying History and Editing, Writing, and Media. As an avid reader, her bookshelves are overflowing; her literary taste ranges from Jane Austen and the classics to Stephen King and young adult novels. She is a theater geek, sporadically breaking out into song (the Phantom of the Opera is here!) in the checkout line at Publix. She owns way too many coffee mugs, but never has enough Star Wars merchandise. She has a passion for writing, and has been known to write love letters to the greatest men in her life (Frank Sinatra, Gene Kelly, Dick van Dyke, to name a few). She is more than excited to join the Her Campus team this semester!
