Here’s What We Know About “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before 3”

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

A few months ago, fans were teased with what to expect in the third and final film of the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before Netflix film series. To check out what fans already knew about the third film, click here. Many got insight and a main idea of what the film will be about. That is, of course, if you already read the series, you have a decent understanding of what this final film will be about and how it will end.

Most of the fans are not ready to say goodbye to Lara Jean Song Covey (Lana Condor), the charming protagonist of the To All the Boys movie series on Netflix. Unfortunately, only one film stands between us and the end of Lara Jean’s story. It has already been revealed that the third and final To All the Boys movie has already been filmed. As of right now, Netflix has not finalized a date for the release of To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before: Always and Forever, Lara Jean.

While you may not be able to set a countdown for when the third film will come out, you won’t have to wait much longer. According to Seventeen, Janel Parrish who plays Margot revealed that the film was coming in early 2021. She told Entertainment Tonight, “We’ll be happy to give people content with To All the Boys 3. I believe it’s going to come out in the beginning of the year. I think that’s the plan, but yeah, I’m really excited for people to see that. It’s a wonderful closing of the chapter for Lara Jean. Her graduation is coming up and it’s another big life moment for her.”

Fans also got to hear Lana Candor’s thoughts on the ending of this chapter for her character. She did reveal that this last film was her favorite and many can guess why. She told Entertainment Tonight, “I think we’ve watched Lara Jean and myself grow up through these movies and I’m proud of the way that we end with her. I’m hopeful for her future. I see a bright future for her, and I know that she’s gonna go off and occupy her space and do the things that she loves. Particularly in the third movie you see a lot of personal growth from Lara Jean.” Parish and Candor also talked about how they were able to film in Korea for two weeks. Immersing themselves in the culture really helped them connect with their characters, they said.

As for casting, Condor will return as Lara Jean (of course), and so will Noah Centineo. However, the big question on everyone’s mind is if Jordan Fisher is coming back as John Ambrose. Sadly, there is no confirmation about whether John Ambrose McClaren will make an appearance. Fisher told Entertainment Tonight, “I, Jordan Fisher, cannot confirm John Ambrose’s involvement in the third film.”

Want a sneak peek of the third film? Lana Condor and Noah Centineo virtually reunited for a good cause and To All the Boys fans got a special treat for the event. Lana and Noah announced that they were hosting a live table read on YouTube with Favored Nations on Instagram back on June 15. Donations from the event went to various organizations including Black Lives Matter, Color for Change and The Bail Project. The table read even included scenes from the upcoming third film.
