Heart-Shaped Grilled Cheese and Soup
You can turn this classic meal into a Valentine’s Day specialty by using a large, heart-shaped cookie cutter. Just prepare some tomato or chicken noodle soup and slap a ton of cheese and your favorite bread on a skillet. Then cut the crust off using your cookie cutter, and you are ready to enjoy!
Heart-Shaped Boiled Eggs
This healthy snack is adorable and easy to make. All you need is a boiled egg, an empty carton, a chopstick and rubber bands. Follow the 7 steps below, provided by Anna the Red to prepare these fun eggs.
- Cut a milk or juice carton and fold it in half hotdog style.
- Make a hard-boiled egg.
- Peel the egg and put it on top of the cut carton.
- Place a round chopstick on the middle of the egg and use rubber bands to secure the chopstick to the ends of the carton.
- Put the setup into the fridge for 10 minutes.
- Remove the chopstick and cut the egg in half.
- Enjoy your Valentine’s egg!
PB&J Heart Cookies
For a new take on the peanut butter and jelly sandwich, bake these peanut butter and jam cookies, inspired by Martha Stewart.
Ingredients:
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 large egg
- 1/3 cup raspberry jam
Directions:
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Beat butter and sugar with a mixer on medium speed until pale and fluffy. Beat in peanut butter, then egg. Reduce speed to low, and beat in flour mixture until dough forms. If the dough is sticky, refrigerate for 5 to 10 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roll dough into 1 1/2-inch balls (about 2 tablespoons each). Arrange on parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing 1 1/2 inches apart. Press into 1 3/4-inch round. Press hearts into centers using your fingertips. Refrigerate for 20 minutes.
- Bake for 12 minutes. Remove from oven, and reshape hearts using your fingertips or the handle of a wooden spoon. Fill indentation of each with a generous 1/2 teaspoon jam to form a heart. Bake until cookies are firm, 6 to 7 minutes more.
