Yes, the words healthy and fun can be used in the same sentence. Though I’ll be honest, transforming your life into a healthy one is a big change with a lot of working components. You can’t expect to change your lifestyle overnight. Making that transition, though, can be something fun instead of a dreaded New Years’ resolution. Here are a few things that can add a little fun to your journey.

What’s a better way to be motivated than a matching set? Having activewear that is fun and functional is key. Something that can look good for the gram but will also keep up with all of your workouts. A fun addition to your healthy lifestyle can be looking good while you’re doing it!

If you’re afraid to start on a journey of a healthy lifestyle, it helps to have someone going through it with you at the same time. Whether it’s your best friend or your boyfriend, having a partner to partake in healthy activities together makes the journey even more fun. But, be sure to not compare yourself; everyone’s journey is different and that’s okay. Having someone to workout with or try something new makes it easier to keep yourself progressing and having that constant journey to a healthier lifestyle.

Did you forget food can be fun? Healthy food gets such a bad rep, yet they do so much good for you. Healthy food doesn’t have to be boring and trying new recipes can help you explore what you like. If you’re scared to change your whole diet, try taking out or replacing parts of it little by little. Soon enough, this healthier diet will become your normal routine. Implementing foods that are better for you will help you feel better. Rewards are okay too; don’t restrict yourself from all the foods you love, but you can try to find a better alternative to your favorite treat. That way, it isn’t a mental wrestling match every time you want to have dessert.
4. Workout somewhere that isn’t the gym
Don’t restrict yourself to thinking the only place you can get fit is in the gym. Not everyone’s happy place is the gym. Outdoor alternatives give so many options for a fun workout. Going to a park or the beach are perfect examples of this. A workout also doesn’t always have to mean cardio, legs, abs and more. If you are wanting to implement fun activities into your workout things like finding trails and going on hikes or heading to the beach to paddleboard are perfect. Just go get that heart rate up and have fun while doing it! Sports are another great alternative to the gym. Heading to a park and kicking around a soccer ball or throwing the football, no one has to keep score or turn it into a competition, but finding a way to have fun while working out makes your lifestyle journey even easier.
Remember that a new lifestyle doesn’t happen overnight. But keeping your energy high and looking at it in an optimistic way can help you do so. Adding in these fun elements can really make a difference in your motivation and turn it into a lifestyle.
