Her Campus (HC): So I noticed you have a business called Tangled Tally where you make affordable FSU inspired jewelry, what got you started in making jewelry?
Jordan Little (JL): I started making these bracelets three years ago because when I came to FSU there were no affordable jewelry options for the bracelets that were in style. I didn’t want to pay boutique prices and I soon figured out that not many people wanted to pay these high prices either.
HC: That’s such a good idea! What kind of bracelets do you typically make?
JL: I make handmade wire wrapped jewelry with different stones and pendants. They are fully customizable from the metal color, stones and sizes. Many people do not wear the average size bangle available in stores and we are able to offer them any size they need. We also make necklaces and rings in many different styles.
HC: I love that your jewelry can be personalized to whatever the buyer wants! What would you say is your favorite part about running your own business?
JL: My favorite part about running my own business is the flexibility it offers me. I am able to make jewelry on my own time, whether that’s at night or during regular hours during the day.
HC: That’s definitely a major benefit of running your own business! So would you say this is your full time job or just a hobby you like to do?
JL: This is my full-time job, between market days, online orders, and boutique orders. We are currently carried in 4 different boutiques.
HC: Wow! That’s awesome and such an inspiration to other students looking to create their own business! Do you have a favorite bracelet that you’ve made?
JL: My favorite bracelet I have made is the Jasper arrowhead bracelet because it is made with real knapped arrowheads and is the perfect game day accessory!
HC: I love that one! Lastly, what’s a fun fact about yourself?
JL: A fun fact about myself is that my husband and I have the same first name and middle initial!
