These next few months during this year are going to be busy, busy, and busier for sports of all kinds. The NFL just hosted the Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs taking the title, and coming up soon, every other sport is going to be streaming their versions of their finals. As you can see, it’s going to be game after game these next few months, so what better way is there for us book-obsessed girlies to enjoy the season than with a side of sports romance? I’m the biggest sucker for a good sports romance, so here are some of my best recommendations to feed your inner athlete this year!
- Â Off Campus series & Briar University series by Elle Kennedy
-
If someone were to ask me what my Roman Empire was, I’d say both of these series in a heartbeat. Everyone says the first book is always the best, but I disagree with this one. While I just want to give The Deal a big hug, every book in the Off Campus series is just as fiery as the next, with even the spinoff series, Briar University, still carrying some of that flare.
With a trope to fit your every need, there’s something for everyone to love in this series as much as I do. The spice, the angst, and everything in between got me fanning myself, while the small, cute moments had me breaking out in butterflies. I’m still hooked on these books, and it’s been almost 3 years since I first read them.
- The Cheat Sheet by Sarah Adams
-
Oh my, this read had me kicking my feet and giggling every time I’d flip to the next page in this book! There’s nothing better than a good best friends-to-lovers trope, and can I just say, Bree and Nathan do it well. A professional football player and dancer make for the cutest couple, and don’t even get me started on how Nathan has the most hilarious friend group. I always found myself laughing at every chapter, always begging for them to make their appearances again.
The slow burn with this one is just right, giving you that time to build up the anticipation, and getting to enjoy seeing their relationship come to life towards the end. Just like The Cheat Sheet was a recommendation to me, it’s now a recommendation from me to you.
- The Right Move by Liz Tomforde
-
While this was a recent read, it quickly became one of my favorites! While this book is a part of the Windy City series, I have such a soft spot for this book, as you don’t see many sports romances centered around basketball. The cheesier and more filled with touches of sweetness, the better, and there’s only one word to describe this book: perfection. Ryan and Indy are such a power couple with their witty banter and oh-so-hot chemistry, but don’t be fooled, I was sobbing so hard from their pure and genuine love that I couldn’t see through my tears. Although I discovered Liz Tomforde only a few months ago, she’s quickly become a favorite author of mine.
- Unravel Me by Becka Mack
-
I need to pause before I continue because this book is all coming back to me, and I might start screaming. Oh. My. Gosh. There aren’t even words to describe how much Adam and Rosie’s story pulled at my heartstrings. Hockey romances can be redundant, but I completely forgot I was reading about this sport to begin with as the story went on.
This book is the epitome of found family, and nothing makes me happier than to see all the characters surrounded by so much love. Rosie, her beautiful little boy, and Adam make the cutest trio, and this book will have you gushing every moment. Although this book can be read as a standalone, Unravel Me is the third book in the Playing for Keeps series, the next one is just as swoon-worthy as the one before!
- The Locker Room by Meghan Quinn
-
I always forget how quickly Meghan Quinn steals my heart with her books! I picked up this book on a whim, and I’m so glad I did. I became obsessed in the first few chapters. Knox and Emory have the type of connection least expected but what I most craved to read about, falling head over heels in love with their story. All I kept thinking was how these two were cuteness overload, giving me all the feels.
Beware, this book will have you yelling and crying towards the end, but it was well worth it to see the happy ending they both deserve. This is the first book in The Brentwood Boys series, and even though I haven’t read all of them yet, I’m beyond excited to finish.Â
Whether it’s because you love sports or because you love romance, pick up one of these books!
