Madame Mary’s Zodiac Matches: Virgo With Strong Personality

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

Featured Sign: Scorpio (Oct. 23rd – Nov. 21st)

Scorpio is one of my favorite signs to analyze.  They are the smooth business people of the zodiac.  Your Scorpio friend is likely to be cool and collected to draw you in.  Be careful, because they’ll strike you hard if you threaten them.  Like all water signs, they are very emotional and secretive.  Scorpios are undoubtedly the best manipulators. They are fast and passionate – the sign of sex.  If all the world is moths, then Scorpio – no matter how weird or awkward they seem on the surface – is the flame.  Don’t believe me? Well, good luck playing with fire.  In love and life, Scorpio burns pretty badly for a water sign.

Featured International Letter by Lisa from Ireland

Dear Madame Mary: I am a Virgo (9/7/81) and have a very confident personality, but always feel like this is a turn off to a lot of the men I meet! Is this a typical Virgo trait?

Lisa,

I think the first and most important thing to look at is your star chart.  The strength of a personality is not integral to the stereotypical description of Virgo.  They are a feminine sign with a masculine ruling planet, and therefore you’ll have Virgos with both strong and weak personalities.  However, within the zodiac, the interaction between your romantic luck and your strong personality can boil down to your planet placement.

You have two very important placements when it comes to answering your question.  I will explain them below.

The Sun in the First House in Virgo

You have the Sun in the First House in Virgo.  In order to explain what this means, I’ll have to break it down.  The Sun:  The sun brings life to everything on earth, which is why its placement at your birth is what dictates your zodiac sign.  It governs your innermost emotions and your ego.  The First House: There are twelve houses to every star chart, each one representing an aspect of your nature as a human being.  The First House is the foundation of your personality.  It is ruled by the strong and fiery Aries.  So, being born on September 7th, 1981 puts the sun in Virgo in your first house.  This says that your foundation and your ego are reinforced by the double masculine sign, Aries.  In short: This gives you one, tough mind.  Virgo is methodical, detail-oriented, and goal driven.  They will usually dedicate their entire lives to community service or hospitality, as their greatest passion will be serving others.  With Aries at your core, you will be fierce and accurate.  Your mind is a weapon in conversation, and you are rarely wrong.  Know your limitations!! Overconfidence will lose you many friends, and will counteract the attractive feminine vibrations that the sun in Virgo will naturally give you.  This could be a turn off to guys.

Venus in the Third House in Libra

Venus in Libra is an absolutely marvelous combination when you’re looking for love.  Not only does Venus rule Libra, but it gives Libra the naturally attractive vibrations that make them desirable to the opposite sex.  Unfortunately, some of this power becomes displaced when in the Third House: the house of your environment and communication.  You will love ultra-feminine surroundings, and are extremely likely to be involved in the arts (any of the arts – all of the arts – you’ll love the arts!).  This will also make you an excellent “sweet talker.”  But Venus in Libra is not your home.  People will distrust your compliments, so you have to learn how to show your sincerity.  This is going to be difficult for an earth sign like Virgo.  Even though earth signs are aware of their emotions, they prefer to ignore them, finding them impractical.  Don’t ignore your emotions! This is what will make people (men especially) suspicious of you!
