Name: Kelly Holden
Year: Junior
Major: Music Therapy
Interests: Chi Omega, singing, yoga, her kitten (Gus), New Girl
HC (Her Campus):Â Kelly, what do you like most about being a student here at FSU?
KH (Kelly Holden): I like the close-knit community feeling on campus, no matter where you are. I love the school spirit and traditions here at Florida State, and I LIVE for game days.
HC: Ok so I know you are sort of obsessed with your cat… where did he get his name?
KH: Well the name Gus randomly popped into my head one day, but then I realized it has significance because one of the main characters on my favorite TV show (Breaking Bad) is named Gus, and I had recently read/seen The Fault in Our Stars, and of course loved Augustus Waters, so the name was just fitting.
HC: What’s one thing you want to cross off your bucket list before you graduate?
KH: I want to perform at an open mike night locally in Tallahassee.
HC: Wow that’s really cool; do you already have a song picked out?
KH: I don’t, but it would definitely be something with a folky/indie feel to it, something I can play on my guitar.
HC: Any Irrational fears?
KH: Butterflies. Oh, and I have this thing where I can’t step out of the shower with wet feet. They have to be completely dry.
HC: Guilty pleasure TV show?
KH: Long Island Medium for sure. I really believe that she can communicate with the dead and I am fascinated by her because she’s relatable and not like some weird creepy medium. I’ll get so touched that I cry because she’s telling people about their loved ones and it’s just amazing.Â
HC: Ok so last question: What is one thing that you think all freshmen should know about FSU or the Tallahassee area?
KH: I think all freshmen should know that its ok to go get help with a class if you need it, and the best way to get help is go to your Professor or TA’s office hours. At first I was embarrassed to go to office hours but then I realized that our teachers are here to help us, and even if you don’t need help stop by their office hours to introduce yourself and get to know your teachers it will benefit you immensely!
