Her Campus (HC): As a freshman here at Florida State, how do you think you are adjusting?
Sami Fuchs (SF): I think I’m adjusting well. It was a little difficult trying to manage my time in the beginning, but I’m a pro at it now.
HC: What different organizations are you apart of this semester?
SF: I’m currently on the board of Hillel at FSU and I’m a new member of Alpha Gamma Delta.
HC: Congratulations on joining Alpha Gamma Delta! How do you find yourself adjusting to Greek life?
SF: Thank you! It’s been amazing. All of the sisters are super welcoming, so I didn’t have a problem adjusting. They made me feel right at home. I’ve already made so many new friends, so that has been amazing. I also see myself having more opportunities for leadership in the future, which would ultimately be life-changing
HC: Let’s talk about Hillel.  What made you initially want to get involved? How are you liking it?
SF: I was involved in USY, a Jewish youth group, for seven years and it was basically the center of my life. So coming into college, I knew I wanted to be involved in a Jewish organization again, and Hillel was that organization. It’s been great! It’s a lot of work, but I’m passionate about what I’m doing and I have the best board out there.
HC: Is it hard to balance all of these extra-curricular activities while still having time for classes, studying and friends?
SF: When it all began, I had to learn how to balance everything. It took a little time, but now I feel like I have a good hold on it all. It’s all about time management.
HC: Do you see yourself becoming involved in even more things next year? Or sticking to what you’re doing now?
SF: I’m pretty content with where I’m at now, but I’ve always liked being involved in a lot of things, so you never know.
