Joseph Hernandez (JH): I started playing in second grade.
HC: What position do you play?
JH: Linebacker.
HC: Did you choose FSU solely to play football?
JH: Mostly, but also for the overall experience and a lot of my friends also decided on FSU.
HC: How do you find balance between school and football?
JH: It’s a huge time commitment, but just managing my time properly and prioritizing.
HC: What was it like being a part of the National Championship in 2014?
JH: It was the best experience of my life. The bond we all had was unlike anything else I had ever been a part of. The night we won was by far the best night of my life.
HC: Was this year a lot harder for you and your teammates based on the critics?
JH: Not based on the critics, but everyone was out to beat us since we had won the year before. We were out to hunt another championship; it did not feel like we were defending the one from the year before since nobody can take that one away from us.
HC: What kind of relationship do you have with your teammates?
JH: We all get along pretty well. We always have each other’s back and it’s like a family.
HC: Who has been your inspiration throughout your years as a football player?
JH: Ray Lewis.

JH: Never give up.
